Who: Jennifer Morrison
When: February 3rd, 2:13pm
Where: home office, Royal
Triggers: pregnancy
What: paternity discovery
Jennifer had been happily trundling through her pregnancy, grateful for the lack of complications and now, that her nausea had pretty much subsided, she was able to get a lot more done that she thought she might do. It wasn’t rare for her to get phone calls from numbers out of state, and she more often than not, answered them all; it could be the opportunity for a new project. It was a number she semi-recognized, so she answered the call;
“Good afternoon, Miss Morrison. This is Dr. Liu...” The doctor announced herself from the family planning and fertility clinic Jennifer had attended to get pregnant in the first place. Jen’s hear dropped slightly hearing the doctor was calling from there.
“Is everything okay, doctor?” She questioned, fearing the worst.
“Well, actually, there was a slight mix-up on our part. While we gave you an embryo from your sample pool, we did not implant the correct sample.”
“What does that mean?”
“The sample we inseminated your egg with wasn’t the sample you’d requested us to use. I believe you’d requested we use one of Mr. Levi’s samples. Unfortunately, the technician selected the wrong batch and, the sample that was used was a Mr. O’Donoghue’s.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Jennifer said calmly. Inside, she was freaking out, being told the baby she was carrying was Colin’s, possibly. She exhaled, “So, what-what does that mean?”
“It’s my belief that you’re a great number of weeks through your pregnancy...”
“Are you suggesting that...? Wait, no. I wouldn’t even consider that option. This is just-- this is difficult news to take. What am I even supposed to tell Zac? How can even tell him this kid isn’t his?” She rambled slightly, not necessarily at the doctor.
“This isn’t a matter we’ve had happen often, thankfully but, we’re equipped to help with counseling and other methods or techniques to help deliver the news. If you’d like us to support that, we can do that for you, Miss Morrison. I’m truly sorry that that happened.”
“Thank you.” Jennifer replied meekly, hanging up the phone before she glanced to her cellphone and unlocked it. She needed to tell both her guys about the most recent update, and figure out how to go from there.
