Character in peril/coffee shop au
ah when are we not in peril in coffeeshops I mean there’s the whizzing espresso maker and the hot milk and the perilously cute boys hunching over their laptops and chewing their bottom lips aggressively until there’s a splotch of angry red there and we want so badly to just pick up our own laptop and move a table over and like, smooth it out maybe with our finger or something, you know??
anyway this is how Harry Styles ends up mortal peril in the coffeeshop because little did he know (everybody else knew) that this small fierce scowler with the shaggy hair doesn’t like strangers and doesn’t like surprises and hates being touched more than any of those two things even if Harry didn’t exactly consciously intend to propel his body through space and do that, reach a hand out, smooth his lip, and maybe also this stranger took many years of martial arts classes which have lain dormant like the loch ness monster under the surface until this very moment at which point like an autonomic process they assert themselves in the shock and Harry Styles finds himself backed up against an ominously rattling china cabinet, at spoon-point, at tea-fork point, desperately trying to not knock over the whole cabinet on the both of them and also fixed by the accusing blue stare of a very angry boy who is (he notices) standing on his toes. On Harry’s toes, and his own.
