hannahgreenecostumes: Stede’s Le Laid look from #ourflagmeansdeath Episode 5. This spectacular jacket was made from embroidered scenic tapestry panels found at @internationalsilks that the costume designer Christine Wada fell in love with early on in prep. However, it was $300/yd and a these period coats take at least 5-6 yards of fabric to make and that’s before you factor in an elaborate pattern. We ended up getting only 5 yards and just made it work.
