USA: Muslim student at UT Arlington claims a white man (complete with Texas flag, camoflague baseball cap and pickup truck) followed her and threatened her with a gun because she was a Muslim. After police begin investigating, she admits she made it up. [Dallas Morning News]
USA: Iraqi immigrant Shaima Alawadi is found beaten to death in her dining room, with a note calling her family "terrorists" and telling them to "go back to their own country". Her husband claims "my wife was a victim of Islamophobia". The "hate crime" receives widespread international coverage, and sparks an internet "One Million Hijabs for Shaima Alawadi" campaign, where Islamophiles post pictures of themselves wearing hijabs to stand against Islamophobia. The police investigation later reveals that her own (Muslim) husband beat her to death and faked the note. [10 News]

Australia: Carnita Matthews claims a racist Islamophobic policeman pulled her over just because she was a Muslim, acted aggressively, made Islamophobic comments and tried to take off her burqa. Police dashcam showed that actually she was the one being aggressive, that the policeman never touched her and never mentioned Islam. When confronted about her false claim she then denied making it, pointing out that the woman who made the claim was wearing a burqa so they couldn’t prove it was her. Denmark: Muslims protest about cartoons satirising Islam appearing in a newspaper, but somehow there are now fifteen cartoons when originally there were only twelve published. The cartoon they claim to be most upset about, depicting Muhammed as a pig, was never published in the newspaper, and was in fact fabricated by Muslims themselves. [BBC]
UK: Muslim group TellMama claims a "wave of attacks" against Muslims, describing it as a "cycle of violence”, and reporting 212 "Islamophobic incidents" in the week after Lee Rigby's murder (by Muslims). Upon examination, the majority of their Islamophobic incidents turn out to be comments on the internet. Of the 8% where individual Muslims were actually touched, none required medical treatment. UK: Mounia Hamoumi claims Cinnamon Heathcote-Drury called her family, "suicide bombers", and said "I'm a British citizen. I don't know where you came from." and pushed her over during an argument at a supermarket checkout. In reality, Cinnamon had offered to help Mounia unpack her groceries because her husband wasn't helping, and the Muslim couple had turned on her and pushed her to the ground, then accused her of being Islamophobic for offering to help. UK: Noor Ramjanally claims BNP members kidnapped him and took him to the woods and held him at knife-point demanding he stop holding prayer-meetings. But CCTV footage shows him leaving his house alone at the time he was supposedly being kidnapped. Turns out to be completely made up. [Telegraph]
UK: Two Muslim students named as Yasmin & Atoofa claim they were banned from a bus becase they were wearing Islamic dress. CCTV footage shows they were banned because they were abusing the driver. [London Evening Standard]
Sweden: A Muslim woman claims racist Swedes in the South Stockholm suburb of Farsta took off her hijab and hit her head against a car. Politicians are outraged, it gets its own hashtag and Swedish Islamophiles light up social media posting pictures of themselves wearing hijabs to show solidarity with Muslims. Then a Muslim eye-witness comes forward saying he saw the whole thing, and it was actually her own (Muslim) husband who beat her, and the idea that anybody could be attacked by native Swedes in Farsta is dubious anyway because there aren't any native Swedes left in Farsta.
