Got robbed (again)
Ok I know this is a stupid thing to be annoyed about, but I hate whenever London is described as some sort of criminal underworld
Too. Much. Credit.
London is a sewer level
i hate london lmfao it’s overrated af
back to london tomorrow and I'm crying just by thinking of it cause I never want to go back there and I also want to skip the eleven hour flight back home, I just want to be there so I can get in bed and curl up in a ball forever
why I dont like london
As someone who's lived in London I hated it, heres the thing what you think London is and what Brits are like are probably way off base.
London is one the most expensive city in the world, when I was living in london my weekly travel costs were £36 a week (which kept going up).
I lived in the east end of london (undesirable part of london) in a shared house, living in a basement bedroom that was cold, dark, damp and had a mouse problem.
I was paying £400 a month plus another £100 for gas and electric. My room was big (double bed) and I wasnt sharing with another person it was considered cheap.
Even in the dead of winter (in a year that it snowed, something which is quite rare) we had the heating off for the vast majority of the day just to save a bit of money.
On top of that was food, even cheap I was spending about £200 a month.
So at best my total out goings were £736 but it was never that because you need to replace clothes, or you go over on your power bill or you dare to go out and do something.
Entertainment is expensive, seeing a movie costs at least £12, going for drinks was even worse, it was incredibly easy to spend £50 in a night and that was trying to do things cheaply.
Many people I knew would go to pubs to see bands, when the band went off they'd go to an off license, buy cheap alcohol and stand outside the pub just to save some cash.
I was working a minimum wage job trying to get into the media but never had time or the money to do the internships because I was spending more money than I earnt and I was always putting more hours in just to try and break even which never happened.
I got sick and tired of commuting two hours a day to a job I didnt like, earning crappy money but feeling completely unable to pull myself out of the bad situation I was in.
London is a great city if you have money and you have a good job, if you dont it can be an incredibly depressing existence.
so i'm looking at the sky, and i'm like *omg there's so many stars out tonight :O!* till i realise that every single fucking one is a mother fucking plane
