with the release of a certain “long-awaited” single, I couldn’t help but feel like man, we as a society have really come to embrace hate-rhetoric. we bash on trump for fueling his power through hate and anger, and yet praise and idolize certain celebrities who do the exact same thing. like, both are so in the wrong. i’m not saying we can’t be angry, but i also can’t help but feel that exploiting our anger through hate, revenge, pettyness, etc doesn’t do anything except fuel this ugly flame that’s scorching our society.
yes we should stand up for ourselves when we’ve been wronged. yes we should acknowledge our anger. but to full on embrace it as part of your new identity? like, how does that make you a better person? you’re only victimizing yourself further and allowing yourself to be caught in the cycle. i’m sorry taylor swift fans, but i don’t see how you can look up to someone so resentful and bitter and so willing to give up? her idgaf attitude is supposed to be a sign of her “fighting back” but it’s really just proof of her complete lack of accountability.
if you want to support or look up to an artist who stands up for herself and calls out sexual abusers, listen to Kesha’s new album. if not the album, then her song “Praying”. because holy crap, is that a powerful song. she’s angry, but she’s also forgiving. she isn’t letting dr. luke win, but she also isn’t contributing to this vicious plague of hate and anger that taylor’s rebranding seems to embrace. kesha fights but she forgives. and in the end, she just wants this world to be filled with love. personally, i’d rather support someone like her.

Extremist Anti-Republican Hate Rhetoric Leads ACLU Leader To Threaten To SHOOT Trump Supporters!!
We have a problem in this culture with conservaphobia and Trumpophobia and it’s time that the left-wing media and Democratic politicians face up to the rhetoric that leads idiots like this one to advocate the murder of Trump supporters.
From the New York Post:
An ACLU leader has resigned after posting on Facebook that supporters of leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump be shot…
