ahhhh allison I had such fun writing this by which I mean I crushed my own spirit <3
it was so important to me that susan not be doug in this first ep. doug who after this refuses to go see carol for fear of being turned away, for fear of being blamed for her attempt. it had to be that she was still holding onto carol but had convinced herself that carol was happy with tag. that also has the benefit of making the moment when susan realizes carol attempted suicide so much worse, because why did they give up on each other if carol wasn’t going to be happy as a result!
