As they did, I too will include the artwork for the fics that have it!
regrets will kill me in time
They sit in silence. The sort of silence that hangs over you, that fills a room more than any inane chatter might. Andraste wraps her legs in strips of woven wool to keep out the cool winter air outside.
In order to keep up with my goal to write every day, I asked around for some rarepairs or crack ships that people would be interested in reading. Flemeth (Mythal)/Andraste was the first one chosen of the lot.
Fun Fact: I decided to ignore the canonical description of Andraste as being pale and blonde because that... didn't make sense to me. Sometimes canon is weird.
ekleipsis (written with @monsterthalia, illustrated by @lola1b)
The first strike of lightning caught her by surprise, exactly as intended.
The smell of ozone and electricity filled the air as a storm brewed in the confines of the temple. Elgar’nan’s focus glowed and rose from its pedestal at the altar. His eyes shone with a vibrant, electric blue.
written for this year's Dragon Age Big Bang with my beloved discord spouse monsterthalia, we set out to tell the story of Mythal's murder and the events leading up to it. While burnout tempered the ambition we first set out with, we nonetheless completed a beautiful thing. See Lola's incredible artwork below.
Fun Fact: For a long time, our plotting tab was longer than our fic tab. We had tables and lists and descriptions all written out for our own reference.
Cassandra is not familiar with the Dalish stories. She has never had reason to be; the Dalish of Nevarra traveled more freely than most, but even they steered clear of the cities. What she knows, she has learned from Inquisition Lavellan, his voice warm and bright as he shared the stories of his people over the campfires.
What started as a writing exercise to practice Cassandra's voice spiraled into something I hadn't anticipated. I thoroughly enjoyed writing Cassandra/Solas here.
Fun Fact: this piece originally started because I spent some time thinking about what it would have been like if Cassandra had been present for the final battle of Veilguard.
He is a member of Expedition Zero. That much is obvious, from the armband not wrapped around his sleeve, but instead pinned to a nearby wall. Lune catches it in her periphery when he spins her around and presses her against the wall. His beard scratches the sensitive skin of her neck and she lets out an embarrassingly loud moan as his teeth follow, scraping, biting.
Written for the Clair Obscur Exchange 2026. I jumped at the chance to write some Renoir/Lune and spent a good chunk of time having to cut things from this to make it work in the amount of time I had to write it.
Fun Fact: I hc Lune as being demisexual, so approaching her perspective as being almost clinical about sex was such a fun time.
He had lost track of the number of times he had seen this man. He was taller, a little taller than Gustave himself, with windswept dark hair and just enough scruff that Sciel would claim Gustave was drooling (he was not, for the record). He wore slim black slacks and a white-button down shirt that he filled out perfectly, as though it had been tailored, with the sleeves rolled up neatly to his elbows.
Also written for the Clair Obscur Secret Santa! A modern AU set in a museum with an immortal figure still hanging around? Yes please! I enjoyed writing from Gustave's POV.
Fun Fact: I actually briefly consulted @monsterthalia about this because they're my resident museum nerd.
There were two things that were certain to Ameridan: Orlesian Chantries had nothing on Tevinter Chantries, and the Black Divine was an unbearably pretty man.
Imagine my luck when I signed up for the Arlathan Exchange and received the information that I would be writing for my discord beloved. @monsterthalia and I had talked about Ameridan/Ashur so many times that I couldn't NOT write it for them when I was given the chance to.
Fun Fact: First time writing Ameridan's perspective! I may or may not have had @monsterthalia's fic open as a reference point because I ADORE their Ameridan.
Written for the Pride's Solace Exchange. I take any excuse to delve into the concept of Ghilan'nain/Solas and I was so excited to have the chance to dig into that and Solas/Mythal in the same fic.
fun Fact: This functioned as practice for when I would go on to write Ghilan'nain's chapters in ekleipsis. Finding that balance of powerful and smart enough to rise in ranks but also deeply unhinged was so, so fun.
It takes a number things to get me to write a fic in a single go. Felassan/Solas, queerplatonic body worship? Done and done. I sat down and wrote this piece in about two hours, and breathed and returned to it a little while later only to realize there was nothing more to it. This was written for Pride's Solace Exchange as well!
Fun Fact: Felassan uses humour to deflect his own misgivings, especially when Solas is struggling. It's a through-line every time I write him, and I adore writing Solas struggling, so it happens a lot.
Bonus, WIP - Meeting the Family
“ASHUR!”
The name is hollered with all the subtlety of a charging druffalo the second his foot crosses the threshold. Ashur winces and half-turns, as though Tarquin might let him turn and walk right back out of the house.
I got hit with the brain worms after the Trans Thedas Fest, in which Ashur and Tarquin prepare to meet Ashur's parents, about an experience down the line of meeting Ashur's extended family. My fingers danced along the keyboard and suddenly I had half a fic written.
Fun Fact: This brain worm is, admittedly, partially the fault of @purplejuni Their brain is very fun to bounce off of, especially when writing Tarquin.
Bonus, WIP - hues of amber anger
Ikithon is on the ground, unresponsive. Bren can’t breathe. He coughs violently and pulls the collar of his shirt up over his mouth and nose, squinting through tear-filled eyes in the smoke-filled room. “Astrid!” he yells; “Eadwulf!”
The only Critical Role piece on the list. This is a continuation of a sapphire's desire, this piece focused on Caleb's experience rather than Jester's.
Fun Fact: This WIP has been partially written in my documents for well over a year. I just keep forgetting it exists (oops!)
Tagging to take part in this: @iicaru2, @justjasper, @broodwoof, @woundedsoul12, @frostbittensun, @lavellansvh3nan, @purplejuni and anyone else who wants to
