Emotions are the first step in losing control over oneself, and that is a simple fact of life. Long gone were the days of watching her parents shower each other with love, a faint smile on her face, expectations sky high. Now they were just a reminder of how much one stood to lose when they depend on others, and she would never subject herself to that type of loss of control; so Wednesday Addams firmly set aside the thought of ever finding her soulmate. Forced to attend Nevermore Academy as her 17th birthday approaches, and with it, the appearance of her soulmark, Wednesday finds herself stuck in a living daydream of her parents’ making. Her plan to abscond from the town of Jericho in the dead of night comes to a halt as she is entrenched in a mystery that begins and ends with a prophecy, foretelling of death and destruction dealt by her hand. Aided by a barista she can’t seem to shake, Wednesday sets out to uncover the truth of the monster terrorizing the citizens of Jericho and how it’s connected to her.
