It hasn’t been too long since he left his homeland to make the brief trip back to Ishgard for business with the budding force of gunslingers. His presence still feels too disjointed and awkward after the years he spent away from the Steppe. Masaki thought it best that he give some space between him and others for now. Besides, he doesn’t want to burden his mother with a grieving son anyway. She’s been through too much already.
Even as much as he hates to burden others, including his own mother, Masaki is dangerously close to a breaking point. The recently dyed, blood red mask sits like an heavy weight in his jacket as he makes his way towards Camp Dragonhead before heading into Ishgard. Haurchefant is one of those people who wears scars with a bright smile and rarely, if at all, let his friends down. Ever since the bloody banquet and the Vault, the captain has proved himself a stalwart ally and a worthy friend to fight for.
The knights of the camp cheerfully greet him and he silently nods back in reply. Their welcoming spirit hasn’t dampened in the time he’s been away, it seems. He makes his way through the miserable cold towards the headquarters and knocks on the door.
