Meet the ultimate friend group of Hawthorne High, Massachusetts:

Lucy Cherrington returned to Hawthorne High as a teacher, having been a student years ago and graduating from college with a master in psychology. Her teaching methods include empathy, optimism, and unconventional wisdom. A recent divorced mom raising two kids, Lucy understands that life never goes according to plan. To her students, she becomes more than a teacher—she’s a mentor, advocate, and the one that reminds them they can be whoever they want in life. Bianca Fisher is a girl who always seems composed, even when she’s questioning her future. She grew up in Hawthorne alongside her best friend and next door neighbour Sebastian, sharing music, dreams, and an unbreakable bond. At school, she’s known for her talent, kindness, and determination to prove she belongs on stage. At home, she balances life with her stepmother and younger half-sister while trying to find independence. Bianca is learning that chasing her dreams might mean leaving the place and people that made her who she is.

Sebastian Hart has spent his whole life figuring things out on his own. Raised by a teenage mother after his father was killed by a drunk driver before he was born, music became the alternative for the things he could never personally talk about. At Hawthorne High, he’s known as the quiet guy with a keyboard and a gift for writing songs that can be a little too personal. His lifelong friendship with Bianca has always been the constant in his life, even as the world feels like it’s falling apart. As he grows up, Sebastian begins to realize that finding his voice means confronting the rough patches of his life.

Marigold Matthews—better known as Goldie—is a storm of creativity, curiosity, and unapologetically being herself. Growing up in a loud, loving, and very large family from Beverly Hills taught her how to make herself stand out in a room full of people. She brings color and chaos to every room, whether she’s decorating rehearsal spaces or making playlists for her and her friends. Goldie believes music should feel alive, loud, and honest, just like her. When she meets rocker Miles Han, she discovers someone who challenges her creativity in ways she never expected.

Crosby Shepard has been a jack of all trades —the star athlete, the bad boy, the guy everyone assumes has his future figured out. But beneath the surface, Crosby has never been sure about what he wants in life. Hawthorne High sees him as a natural leader on the football field, yet he’s starting to realize he might want more than just joining the NFL. Meeting Haven Carter introduces him to a quieter, more creative side of life he never thought about. As Crosby grows closer to his friends, he begins to redefine what success really means.

Rae Kaneko observes the world carefully before deciding who she really is. Thoughtful, perceptive, and quietly confident, Rae prefers meaningful conversations instead of loud environments. Her interests range from art and literature to exploring ideas that challenge the status quo. At Hawthorne High, she slowly becomes an anchor in group of friends—the one who listens, questions, and offers her perspective when things get complex. Meeting Oriana Scott helps Rae realize that vulnerability can be just as powerful as independence.

Justice Rosales lives life at full blast. A natural performer with a sharp sense of humor, Justice believes that the stage is the one place where people can truly be whoever they are without shame. At Hawthorne High, he’s known for his dramatic flair, big personality, and unwavering loyalty to his friends. But behind the confidence is someone who understands what it means to fight for what is right. When Justice begins a relationship with football player Patrick Leary, he discovers that courage can look different for everyone.

Miles Han is the electrifying frontman of Hawthorne’s punk band, The Overdrive. Fiercely independent and passionate about music, he built his reputation on loud guitars and even louder opinions. Friendly, observant, and quietly artistic, she sees stories everywhere she looks, especially through the lens of her camera. While most people treat Hawthorne as just another small town, Haven has always believed there’s something special hidden in its everyday moments. Her growing connection with Crosby Shepard encourages both of them to see the world differently. For Haven, the challenge isn’t finding beauty—it’s deciding whether she’s brave enough to chase it beyond Hawthorne.
