Who remembers these guys? Another one of my biggest interests is holiday park mascots, and Rory the tiger is one of my favourites! I went to haven when they were just ending the zoo troop rebrand and going into the seaside squad era, but I still remember the classic songs and I binged the tapes as I got older. The seaside squad are so special to me, even though they’re different now I still go to haven to visit them because of how much they mean to me, especially Rory. 🐾

this might sound kinda silly but sometimes if i’m fronting in the evening between like 6 and 10pm ish i can feel it in the air, it’s tiger time. even if the entertainment at haven hasn’t been the tiger club for years, even if there’s totally different music and the characters don’t look the same, even if the buildings are different, i know between these hours that there are a bunch of lovely little seaside towns where a kid could be drinking a slushie and getting too excited and throwing up his candyfloss waiting to get his picture taken with rory the tiger, i know there’s a little girl out there stepping out of her caravan with glow sticks and funky light up hair accessories and her heart’s pounding cause she’s excited to do party dances and play games and win prizes and fall asleep across two chairs when she tires herself out, i know it!!

it’s comforting to me to stick my head out of the window and smell the evening air and know that people are enjoying their holidays
