My Awkward Introduction
Remember in high school when you either had to introduce yourself or introduce your partner in a [pointless] class activity and pretty much no one cared? Well yeah, I have those feelings right now. Except it’s not pointless, but more so stressful because I’m trying to think of fun facts about me besides the fact that I basically eat and sleep all day. I’m hypothetically like a bear.
Hahahahah
Hellooooo, my name is Cassie (not Casey, Cathy, Cassandra or any other “Ca” related name)… just Cassie. I’m from the island of Oahu, Hawaii (yeah please scream about how cool that is) and like everyone else here I’m sure blessed to call this place home. I’m in my third year of college (can you hear me screaming for help?) and I have a part time job at a flower shop. You could say I’m living the broke girl in Hawaii dream.
My whole life I’ve been pretty much a loner with a lot of friends. I had a lot of friends but not friends that I could trust with my deepest darkest secrets. I had a lot of acquaintances. High School was pretty much me hanging out with different types of people who I met through classes or knew since middle school. I never got invited to parties or the coolest events people attended. I was just an average high school student trying to make those four years go as quickly as possible :-)
College was just about the same as high school, but slightly better. I went to college in California for my first two years and decided to come home after because ya girl was piling on major debt😂 California was a great experience and I truly miss attending a University in that state.
To get to the point, I made this blog because I’m an ambivert. That means I have an equal balance of extroverted and introverted characteristics. If you can’t understand, here’s a glimpse of my life:
1. I love hanging out with people, but I also love cancelling plans and being alone! 2. Phone calls and long conversations give me stress, but I love getting to know people on a deeper level than just “hey how are you doing?” I love long and deep conversations. 3. I can sit alone in my room ALL DAY and be totally fine, and I can hangout with friends ALL DAY and be totally fine.
So basically my life is a constant battle of choosing to be introverted or extroverted on a daily basis :)
But anyway, this blog is for me to share my favorite places and experiences with people who are willing to listen. I made this blog so it can help me bring out the best of my introverted and extroverted qualities.
I always experience delicious food and secret places alone or with people who aren’t interested, so this is why I created The Trendy Patrol. I love fashion, food, and trying new things that bring me out of my comfort zone. I want to share my experiences and talk to other people that enjoy the same things as I do. Someone told me Tumblr is a platform full of people just wanting to share their life, interests, and pun related humor to the world. Sounds a lot like me.
So if you love trying to take nice photos, eating BOMB FOOD that’s probably not good for your health, making new friends, exploring illegal/abandoned places, finding cheap clothes that slay, and attempting to save money everyday while trying to have an interesting social life (let’s be real), than follow my tumblr because this is Day one out of many more crazy adventures. I’m just here to have fun and chillax. So join the party and let’s be friends!
P.S. Here’s some fun facts about me since I obviously failed to mention that!
1. I’m currently studying Marketing and seeking a bachelors degree🤗 2. I love Boba drinks. Actually I’m obsessed with boba. 3. I collect movie tickets because if I’m paying $12 I need something to take home you know? 4. I love hiking and exploring new places 5. I hate jumping off things (cliff jumping, bungee jumping) BUT I can do it if someone hypes me up first 😂🤘 6. I love thrift stores. TBH I can spend hours in one! 7. I love going to new places and trying new food. I spend all my money on food!!😭 8. I mostly hangout with my boyfriend because he’s the only person that drives 40 minutes to pick me up. I moved away from my hometown. 9. I have a car, a license, but ask me if I like driving? Nope ☺️ Plus my car has engine problems so I can’t drive it farther than 12 miles! 10. I love making people laugh. People need to smile more and I’m happy to be the reason why! 11. I want to travel and explore new cultures. My first major was Anthropology and honestly I’m still deeply interested in that subject! 12. If you actually read this far, thank you. You’re a cool peep.
If you can relate to this post, let’s be friends!! I’m new to tumblr so I’d love to connect and meet more people like me😊👍 Thanks for reading my awkward introduction!
A Techie's Take On CityCamp
We journalists have our perspective on CityCamp, but what about the tech-savvy Honolulu residents who might actually be working with the government data?
Hawaii Blog's Ryan Ozawa has shared his thoughts on the unconference:
"The energy, creativity, and commitment was impressive. There was a lot of great conversation, and there were countless great ideas shared — an almost overwhelming amount to process."
He's also posted video and photos from the event. Here's the video:
