It takes Clint a grand total of 3 seconds to emotionally adopt a child, esp daughter. Even if they're an adult. Especially if they're an adult
He tells them all about his children and his wife, his little girl
She fangurrls about archery and videos and archers she's seen. He takes her to the archery range and they stay there shootingarrowss and doingtrick shotss long enough that their arms ache.
They had breakfast and went straight there.
It's where Dr Strange and Dr Stark will find them most days off.
He's very protective, esp what with the mind control aftermath (she was also mind controlled via tactile hypnosis and was done when she was 13 by her mentor. He was 19, she was 13). So at first he didn't trust her, but over time he got to know her, also noticing within the first 10 mins that most of her personality was a trauma response. He realised that the majority of her traumas were from men, so he made sure not to contribute.
When she got something wrong, or an arrow flew way off, she'd be quick to berate herself, but he would assure her with gentleness that it happens to the best of us. He's quick to comfort her with a soft voice and doesn't raise his voice.
She thinks he's a scam at first, cause no-one is that nice. Just like Mr Stark and Dr Strange
It takes her a while to warm up to him bc of how kind and caring he is
It breaks their hearts FP⁴.
She's only 24 and she's already so sceptical of adults, esp men.
They host father meetings, talking about their kids/nephews,/nieces.
Clint: about Cooper, Lila, Nathaniel, Kate, Kara, Morgana
Stephen: about Kara, Harley, Peter, America and Morgana
Tony: about Nebula, Kara, Harley, Peter, America and Morgana
Bruce: about all these kids
And somehow, Kara had become a part of their lives so intrinsically that they started referring to her as "our kid" without even realising it at first.
Her father shows up and she's so emotionally torn between doing right by him or doing right by herself. They're all there, ready to step up to help her prioritise herself, bc they've seen her wake up erratic from nightmares induced by past traumas, one of which wouldn't even exist in her life had her father listened to her or trusted her. And the person who did their own daughter dirty by not listening to her about the creepy adult mentor was not worth prioritising over her life.
She made the right choice.
