they’re writing on their clipboard as they speak, never once making a vast effort to maintain eye contact with the woman before them. ( too many thoughts, yes, too many jobs to do and things to monitor ! ) being informed of their stature is hardly an irregularity -- only a nudging reminder that only they haven’t spend time around unfamiliar people in a while. most people they speak to have become accustomed to their height.
❛ it’s kind of a cultural thing. i think most people from my home region are fairly tall. tandorians, though ? pretty short. wild, considering the amount of sun they get. lotta engineers didn’t expect me to be this tall when i signed up. ❜ valera shrugs. their writing ceases, and they shove the clipboard unceremoniously under their arm, lightly scuffing still-wet ink on their lab coat. idly twirling the pen between their fingers.
