thoughts or headcanons on larkwing from windclan? she’s one of my minor character blorbos, haha. dark forest trainee who is mainly forgotten about and also a single mom

She is going to get some expansion when I do her sister Featherpelt's character page, since it might be more Featherpelt/Larkwing. BTW, the other Larkwing is now named Larkshine.

For Canon!Larkwing, I headcanon her as a bit of a tougher mom, sporty. Not mean by any means, but she would absolutely love bringing her sons to soccer practice and even play games with them. Rough and tumble to Featherpelt's soft girl. Bigger and bulkier.

WCR!Larkwing is very much similar. She's loud, proud, rebellious, and is no longer the daughter of Sedgewhisker and Emberfoot. She belongs to OC couple, Loudbird and Hayclaw with her sister. Her parents are Codeists, hard-core. Bordering Tiger Law, and very opposed to Queen's Rights. Featherpelt has pretty bad sensory processing issues, though she is still the more heavily favored sister, due to being quieter and more willing to follow rules than punky little Lark.

Larkwing has ALSO now been born earlier, and she is, well... They all get apprenticed during Hollyleaf's Nightmare, so uh... She's part of the Nightmare generation.

She joined the Dark Forest training because she was being constantly told by Hayclaw and Loudbird to follow rules, lest she invoke the wrath of Starclan... She was curious. What else is there other than Starclan? It was enough for the Dark Forest to hook some claws in.

Her parents were ashamed. They put even more pressure on Featherpelt, who was needing a second mentorship, to be perfect. They shunned Larkwing, made her feel even more isolated.... It got worse when The Kin rolled around. Hayclaw and Loudbird joined, as well as Featherpelt. Featherpelt only joined for reasons she kept vague.

Their parents joined from dissatisfaction with Onestar, that he refused to punish Harespring for bringing herbs to Shadowclan. "Too soft!" They hissed, knowing Darktail would never do that, he said he always focuses on taking care of His Own cats rather than wasting resources on others. Larkwing, still being socially isolated for being a Dark Forest Trainee at all, was against the whole thing and was in agreement with Harespeing, though I don't think she personally helped deliver the herbs.

Loudbird stayed with The Kin, cowardly Hayclaw did not, and came back to Windclan during the final battle. He was punished by Harestar with apprentice duties and a Dishonor Title for a while, Lambnose, but stayed in Windclan.

When Larkwing calls Queen's Rights for her precious baby boys, Hayclaw freaks out over it, and though Harestar isn't well in the slightest, he exiles Hayclaw to go find his old mate and what is left of The Kin, still out there. Giving him to Dishonor Title of Deadfunnel. (Named for the deadly Fool's Funnel mushrooms that grow near Horseplace.)

Larkwing is currently happy in the Nursery with her little boys.
