Manchester United and Tottenham Battle for Hackney as Middlesbrough Set £30m Price Tag
Hayden Hackney, Middlesbrough’s standout midfielder, has emerged as a January transfer target for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, with both Premier League clubs keen to secure his signature.
Despite growing interest from several sides, Middlesbrough have made it clear they will not consider offers below £30 million. The Championship club are pushing for เว็บบอลราคาดี promotion back to the Premier League and are determined to keep their key players until the end of the season, having already felt the impact of selling Emmanuel Latte Lath for a significant fee last year — a move that affected their performances.
Under head coach Kim Hellberg, Boro have enjoyed an impressive campaign and currently sit second in the Championship, with the 23-year-old Hackney playing a pivotal role in midfield. He has registered three goals and six assists in 26 league appearances so far this season.
In addition to United and Spurs, Fulham, Everton, and Brentford are also closely monitoring Hackney’s situation. Brentford manager Thomas Frank, despite recently signing Conor Gallagher, is understood to remain keen on the midfielder.
On the Manchester United side, interim manager Michael Carrick, who previously worked with Hackney, is believed to be a strong advocate for the move, convinced the midfielder could add quality and balance to United’s midfield.
Should any club meet Middlesbrough’s £30 million valuation, the deal would become the most expensive sale in the club’s history, surpassing the previous record set by Latte Lath’s move to Atlanta United for £18.4 million.
