the new chess craze sounds like something that would happen in the aa universe just to piss edgeworth off. like kay would show up at his office one day asking him to teach her how to play chess and he'd be like ":) i'm glad she has a new hobby" and then three days later he finds out that not only is she skipping school to play chess, she is part of a "roaming chess gang" springing ambushes upon unsuspecting opponents and also has roped sebastian in as part of her "evil advisor gambit"
