In Megatronus' universe, the Quintesson did not create the Cybertronians, but they had enslaved them for a time and sold them as pets and merchandise. The 13 primes were the ones that led the liberation against the Quintesson and drove them off of Cybertron. Much of this history was kept by Alpha Trion until Sentinel's betrayal. Whether these records survived or not at that point is questionable. But it was why peace with the Quintesson was not attempted, especially when they started attempting to terraform Cybertron's surface with organic floral and fauna. The plants don't harm Cybertronians directly, but they don't feed off of Energon, which was (and is) worrying to Megatronus and his fellow primes.
