An average adult makes about 35,000 decisions daily, and every decision presents an opportunity to be led. How we respond or how much time we spend in making these decisions is dependent on how important or urgent those decisions are. The strategies we use to decide or not to decide varies. It could be impulsive, when we feel we don't want to waste time thinking about it. It can be compliance too, where we chose the most pleasing. Sometimes we delegate some decisions, sometimes we use avoidance or deflection and so on. Studies have shown the steps in effective decision making to include; identifying the decision to be made, gathering information, identifying alternatives, weighing the evidence, choosing among those alternatives, taking action, and later reviewing your decision. Even when we must have taken all these steps to make effective decision, most of the times, there is a lot we don't know about. Reality is we need help. There are factors beyond us that we have no control over, no matter how meticulous we have been in following the steps. To get this help, some of us go to unimaginable places. Some to Woli prophets, Imam, witches, palm readers, seers, experienced friends and so on. We go to those places because we have put our trust in them. We feel they are competent, reliable and credible. Most times they fail us. The question is do we trust God this way? Do we believe that God is able (competent)? 2 Cor. 9.8. God is able to do more than we can ever think or imagine. Eph. 3.20, Heb. 7.25, Mark 10.27. Isa. 41.10, 1 Peter 5.6-7, Isa. 49.15, Jer. 29.11, God is asking us to trust Him and fear not, because He cares for us. Just like a woman cannot forget her suckling baby, so also God does not forget us. His compassion fails not. All He requires of us is to decide today to trust Him to lead us. God is able and God is good ALL the time! Hallelujah!
