Head Canon Facts #2: Sexuality

Hope is asexual. He lacks a desire to have sex, and more importantly he lacks even the thought to have sex to begin with. To him sex is a biological drive to procreate. Since he has no desire to procreate, thus the thought to engage in intercourse doesn't even cross his busy mind.

He has other subjects to think about, like his research and the daily running of Academia. Not to mention the well-being of humanity as a whole.

After being reunited with his father after the events of FFXIII, he attempted to go back to school like any normal child. He didn't want to forget the live changing events he participated in, he just wanted to put that all behind him and move forward. To try to have a life for his mother's sake. And for his part Bartholomew became rather protective of his son, isulating him in an attempt to keep him safe.

But the moment Hope returned to school life the first thing that was noticed by all his teachers was just how much of a briliant mind the young boy had. Normal studies bored Hope, leading him to seek out knowlege in other places. He often found himself wholed up in the library instead of engaging in interpersonal activities like other teens his age.

So his father enrolled him in the forrunner institution to the Academy. Where he thrived- probably at the cost of any chance of having normal relations with others.

Yes, he did socialize with other students even as he rose in the ranks. But all of his relationships were maintained, by him, at the friendship level. His father practicaly preached to him that romance was a thing that would get in the way of his brillant career as a scientist. So with all longings completly repressed and not even given a chance to surface, Hope became waht he is today.

One of the greatest minds to walk Gran Pulse.

But because of his studies his concept of interpersonal relationships is stunted at the level of a child. He sees romance in the way a young boy would. And this doesn't bother him, because the one person that he has let close to him, Noel, is so perfectly patient in regards to him. Their love is at a pure state.

A note from the mun:  I have thought long and hard about this and I've decided to write my Hope with this diagnosis in mind.  I also have been handed this diagnosis myself so I write this from my heart from true real life experiences.

For Hope a few of the defining characteristics of this Syndrome will include:

A high IQ

A nearly obsessive intrest in narrow and obscure areas of study.  This includes his fascination with the Paradox Effect and Space-Time anomalies.

A tendency to talk about his areas of intrest with passion, making himself the center of attention in a conversation, even though that is the last thing he really wants to be.

Interrupting others constantly to inject his point of view.

A compulsion to always be correct, and getting mad when others won't see his point of view.

Talking "like a nerd." ie rambling and talking about things that no one can understand but him.

An inability to connect with people on a personal level, making him appear to be cold and apathetic.

Difficulty forming relationships, but when he does they are relationships set for life.

Having too many personal barriers, ie not letting people into his space and wanting to control things in his immediate surroundings.  If he can't it will cause him to become anxious.

An aversion to being touched by others in affectionate ways such as hugging and hand shaking.  He'll often react violently to being touched with out even meaning to.

An inability to make eye contact

There are two factors at play in determining how Riku runs.  Weather or not he's running on pure adrenaline and instinct, or if he's tapping into his powers of darkness.

Riku suffers from the aftermath of a trumatic spiral fracture to his right leg.  Even though it's healed he's broken it several times in different places with different degrees of severity.  The residual structural changes in his musculature and joins leaves him with severe and crippling pain He has early arthritis in his knee and hip from the stresses of walking with a heavy limp.  Not to mention he's forced to use a cane.

Needless to say he runs with the efficency of a lopsided gazelle

Unless he taps into his reserves of dark energy.  Several fragments of darkness have pooled in collessed in the various locations in his body where he's been injuried.  Mainly his leg.  He can use the numbing powers of the darkness as a booster.

When he does this he can run with the skill and grace of an Olympic sprinter.

But it comes with a price.  Because he cannot feel the pain, he's more likely to injure himself more.  And the darkness will start to eat away at his mind again.  If he choses to ignore those whispers the results are more pain

as he was born during the snowy winter of december, his parents had decided to name him 'snow' though they chose '雄輝' as the characters instead -- 雄 meaning man and 輝 meaning bright -- "bright man". yuki indeed turned out to be a very intelligent child, though odd at most but still people could see his intellect once they saw his grades. the male doesn't hate his name like most do and quite likes the winters so all in all, he's satisfied with the choice his parents had made. he also goes by 'snow' back when he lived in canada and most of his friends had told him that the name fitted him for he was pale as snow.
