        Perhaps it was just that Hope wasn’t used to this kind of situation, but she crossed her arms and gave him a look. Was she watching where she was going? No. Did she still somewhat blame the other for the running into each other part? Yes. There was no getting around that one, if she was being honest here. “Perhaps you should invest in a BELL or something to wear around your neck so people know where you are...” was what came out of her mouth, and she probably wouldn’t suck the words back in, even if she could. “It could be a choker or something.”

     𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 to attend to. one of their own might’ve been in trouble, a funeral to attend or perhaps, for ol’ times sake, seeing how everyone is holding up after the split. ever the courteous titan, she’d never turn down an invitation to see the others again. she wandered for a couple of minutes, phasing between the walls of the halls that broke into the wide space of a living area they once shared. playful memories that holds dear to her. being as she was sort of the first one to show up, by her guess? whoever sent out the signal must’ve missed the gathering of the titans and it was much less about a funeral. otherwise, she would’ve seen another member by now.

       "  𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐕𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐄,  "  a saddened outlook falls to the picture in front of her. after hours upon hours of fighting, rolling, nearly running out of arrows and pure chaos, she returns to his presence with such an... abrupt surprise,  “  i thought... miles, i thought you would never betray me like this,  ”  maybe she’s being a little bit theatrical over pizza toppings but the girl’s got a serious appetite for meat lover’s --or so she expected.

she sits comfortably on their balcony, Shadow belly up on the floor & Theo laying comfortably by her feet as the blonde tans. summer sun warming her skin but the slight breeze keeps her cool as she reads, music filling the air through the speakers & she can hear Hades trotting from his perch on the table inside to his water fountain, & Gar letting Franklin go after their trek down the stairs — the newest addition to their family still too small to go between the floors of their penthouse freely & Ravenna still can’t believe she’s lucky enough to call this her life.

a hum when his fingers graze her neck, eyes fluttering shut & head falls back against the couch she’s settled on. palm travels still, his other hand joining as they move to her chest to toy with the straps of her bikini top & Ravenna smiles. “ can’t get a moments peace with you around, ” she teases her mate lightly as her own hand caresses lightly from his wrist. sea - green gaze finds his verdant green, leaning closer to nudge her nose against his jaw as his touch ventures under her bathing suit. she sighs, lips brushing barely there kisses wherever she can reach & the book on her lap is all but forgotten.

head turns, propping her chin on his bare chest as fingers idly brush back & forth on his stomach. they lay together in their bed, Shadow & Theo at their feet with Hades curled up on the pillow by their heads & Ravenna couldn’t be happier with the life they’ve made for themselves.

“ we protect each other. ” it’s a simple response & the only one that matters. together, they’re more powerful — feeding off of each other’s strengths & covering for each other’s weaknesses, a bond that’s forged by trust & love.

palm slides up his chest to cup the side of his neck, thumb caressing the sharp edge of his jaw & sea-green eyes drift from his lips to the evergreen of his gaze. “ i love you. ” then she pushes forward, leaving a tender kiss to his jaw before moving to press one against his mouth. “ we’re a team, mi beastia. don’t you forget that. ”

the plan is a simple one, a weekend away in her cabin to finally put an end to her incessant wondering if he feels the same way she does. heart beats freely in her chest when he's near, his presence alone drives away the darkness in her mind & while she is forever grateful for his friendship, there's something else there, something deeper & more profound.

body relaxes back in the large cushioned porch swing, pulling the zip - up hoodie she stole from him tighter when the cool night breeze picks up for a second. with a wave of her hand, the canopy above them retreated to it's storage container so they look up at the stars in the sky & Ravenna sighs, content in the moment as sea - green eyes pick out a constellation. " come here ! look ! " she reaches with her left hand for Gar's wrist & brings him closer, a finger points to the top most star & slowly connects the dots. " that's draco, the dragon. "

she shuffles a bit, getting up on an elbow & takes his own hand to trace the constellation when he doesn't see it the first time. " it's for Ladon, Hera's dragon who guarded her golden apples in the garden of Hesperides. " Ravenna places his hand against his chest, her own resting on top & fingers begin to caress his skin softly. " to complete one of his 12 Labors, Heracles killed Ladon in order to steal some of the apples. Hera was devastated & so she honored him by giving him a place in the sky forever. "

voice trails off, eyes having been drawn to his lips which were distracting & she leans forward, stopping before they touch to find his green gaze & looks for any sign of refusal. when Ravenna finds none, she's quick to close the remaining space with a careful kiss, a gentle press to test the waters & her mind goes fuzzy immediately. it takes effort to pull away, eyes staying closed a little longer to savor the feeling & she feels a heat flush through her entire being. " while that was worth the wait . . . " palm cups his jaw & she bumps the tip of her nose to his, whispering her words against his lips. " i don't want to wait anymore. "

𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑, balancing between the edge and the city below hardly scared the cat; a care-free way of living a glamorous life. hanging around hell’s kitchen for too long was bound to gain the devil’s attention– for once, he wasn’t the one she was aiming for. instead, the big man that’s really running the city she had her eyes for. priceless items await for the cat behind marble walls and dozens of security but… that’s for later in the evening. the sun was just going down, a golden glow that covers across this concrete jungle of hers. she couldn’t help the huff of a snicker leaving her, rolling her eyes as if what the devil had to say was going to help her scurry into the next confession box,  “  so what?  ”  the kingpin had photos of everyone that was mildly a threat. it’s smart, practical to keep in his pocket. at least fisk would know that the black cat was on the prowl.

“  you think he’s gonna hang me by my neck?  ”  she asked curiously, twirling on her heel as she stood even closer to the edge. the sun’s glow illuminates the cat’s suit, grayish strands in a tight pony were slightly out of place. stepping down onto the rooftop floor, both paws come up to retract the nails,  “  i’ve been a good kitten this whole time i’ve been back. if he’s so paranoid, i’m sure he would’ve sent out a hit for me by now, devil,  ”  it does strike up an interesting thought: did he weed through the grapevine to seek her out and warn her? or was this only a pit-stop before crawling back home?
