SUMMER GLOBAL PROJECT 2026: following GIRLNEXTDOOR's explosive success with HYDE ACADEMY and their latest promotion cycle for "FOCUS," the group's strongest chart performance to date (multiple music show wins, domestic charting, solo appearances, and growing international) HYDRA has elected to fast-track GIRLNEXTDOOR's next promotional cycle. Beginning JUNE 29 and continuing through JULY 24, 2026, the group will prepare a GLOBAL PROMOTION starting with a JAPANESE DEBUT. From GIRLNEXTDOOR's current eight-member roster, TAKADA MIRU, YAMASHIRO SAKURA, SONG NAIMEI, BARBIE, and PARK CHAEYEON will participate in this promotion.

JAPANESE DEBUT EP "DEMO" DISTRIBUTION

Each release will receive dedicated promotional content, performance videos, and music video campaigns tailored to their respective markets. Due to the scale of production, the project will result in several new music videos being filmed across multiple locations throughout the summer Tokyo, Japan. The company will accommodate all traveling expenses and the members will now have a PENTHOUSE in Japan (SHIBUYA WARD) they can travel from and in out of Korea at their own leisure during promotional breaks.

But fans should not be concerned regarding BANG MINAH, LEE BOHYUN, and LEE NAYOUNG's absence from this particular project. All three members remain active, travel with the other five, and will be preparing (Shh!) for GIRLNEXTDOOR's upcoming WORLD TOUR & COMEBACK, scheduled to begin in late AUGUST 2026. Tour dates, venues, setlists, and ticketing information have not yet been finalized and will be announced at a later date.

Meanwhile, the boys from VARSITY will also travel to Tokyo, Japan for a shorter PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE centered around the recording and limited promotion of an original soundtrack/DIGITAL SINGLE for the TV Series "Hatsukoi DOGs." titled 'Where love passed.' As part of the project, HYDRA has invited two (NPC) Japanese trainees, alongside GU YEONSEOK (@hdyeonseok), to participate in the OST lineup as an informal evaluation opportunity. While this should not be interpreted as an official addition to VARSITY and no contracts or debut guarantees are attached, the project will allow participating trainees to GAIN EXPERIENCE working within a professional release cycle while receiving COMPENSATION for their contributions.

During their stay, the boys will reside in HYDRA Japan's trainee dormitories, where they will have the opportunity to train alongside and build connections with fellow HYDRA trainees from across the company's divisions. Beyond recording activities, participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with HYDRA Japan's systems, staff, and trainee culture as the company continues to explore future cross-market opportunities. The morning of June 8th begins like any other comeback season. The WHOLE COMPANY blinks and the next second, the world skips forward. When they open their eyes again, what does the future hold for them?

The summer comeback preparations are supposed to be simple. Members of GIRLNEXTDOOR and VARSITY arrive at HYDRA Labels for what they assume is another routine day of schedules and promotional briefing in the present day. Managers are stressed out, and someone is already late. Then they blink.

Sixteen years flashby.

The year is 2042, and everyone at the company has been dropped into a future version of their own life in a time loop. Some have remained under HYDRA Labels. Some left years ago. Some retired. Some vanished from the spotlight entirely. Unfortunately, HYDRA has tracked down every single one of them. Because nothing (not marriage, parenthood, solo careers, scandals, world tours, diplomatic appointments, questionable business ventures, or self-imposed exile) will stop a REUNION COMEBACK.

The future isn't quite what people expected. Holographic interfaces have replaced most screens. And most phones project entire workspaces into the air. Robot assistants have become so integrated into daily life that people argue with them like family members. Autonomous transportation dominates most cities, while luxury cars hover above designated pavement lanes. Flying cars unfortunately remain frustratingly unavailable! The first commercial models aren't expected until 2042, and everyone is tired of hearing about it. The future is a pre-cyberpunk nightmare.

K-pop on the other hand has become one of the world's most influential entertainment exports. International stadium tours, virtual fan experiences, new cities named after them, and multilingual promotions are standard practice now. And despite fifteen years passing... Fans still argue about 4th and 5th generation idols online. Some things never change, you know?

To celebrate HYDRA Labels' summer festival project, executives have announced something nobody believed was possible: A full-scale reunion comeback featuring the ORIGINAL members of GIRLNEXTDOOR and VARSITY. The current Japanese leader of GIRLNEXTDOOR has spent her debut years hearing comparisons to Takada Miru. While the oldest hot shot of VARSITY has spent his being told he resembles Hasegawa Haru enough to require a DNA test. Each current member has comparisons to the OG lineup, naturally. The question is, how does the future-them look and act like now? Think quick, rehearsal is in thirty minutes!
