lelani probably should have learned her lesson about the dangers of going to parties by now. not only had she first encountered angel at one with disastrous results (despite, or maybe because of, how enjoyable it had been), but she’d also succeeded in humiliating herself a second time when she bumped into him, literally, at another party. she was starting to think she was cursed. that, or her mother had been right when she warned her to be celibate in college. lelani didn’t necessarily believe it was a matter of “upsetting god by living a life of sin,” as her mother had put it, but it might save her some embarrassment.  when she saw angel across the crowded room at her third party of the semester, she’d hurriedly left, heading to the pantry area to avoid him — or try, at least. instead, she found herself alone with him when he entered the room. “the keg is that way,” she blurted, pointing toward the kitchen. whether that was what he’d been looking for, she wasn’t sure.
