Mina was excited, energy spinning through her veins and a sort of nervousness setting her fingers to fidgeting. It wasn’t often that a friend she made in the hospital bothered following up again later. Usually people got back to their old lives and while they might text occasionally here and there, time got in the way. It wasn’t anything terrible or depressing, just life, but Jongdae had been so much fun to chat with that she was pretty glad it seemed like it wasn’t going in that direction. In fact, it was trending happily down the opposite path, considering they’d set up a meeting to explore Hongdae. She was new to the area and he was new to the country and the combination promised good times ahead, a chance to explore and learn about their surroundings without having to stumble through it all alone. It had been a month or so since she’d met him, his wrist broken in a skateboarding accident- something he’d cheerfully informed her wasn’t all that uncommon, considering he apparently wasn’t all that good. And she’d taken to the idea of that immediately- skateboarding. It seemed fun, freeing, exhilarating. The ability to zoom down the street, wind whipping in your hair. So it was little surprise that she was meeting him at a skatepark, board under her arm (picked out with his help, via a series of texts and picture messages) and a grin on her face as she scuffed the toes of her sneakers against the asphalt in nervous movements. By the time he showed up she’d gotten the basic ‘going forward’ thing down, rolling towards him (somewhat slowly) with a bright smile, hands stretching to steady herself by holding on to the other’s arm. “Hey, hi!” she laughed out as she settled herself properly onto the asphalt, foot sticking out to stop her board from rolling casually away. “I got started while I was waiting. I can see how you fall all the time, its sort of tricky,” she admitted with a quirk of her lips, head tilting as she glanced over at the other; expressive features and mischievous eyes. “Just don’t let me break my hands okay, I need them for drawing.”
