F_FUCK....
I honestly don’t know why people hate he cheng? To me his cold/ harsh looking persona comes from having to build a barrier between him and he tian. He keeps him out the loop and at a distance so he doesn’t end up like him. I don’t think he wants he tian to do the work he’s doing and we see in every chapter with him that he does his best to protect he tian even if it’s cruel. He’d rather have he tian hate him than be like him, which I think shows how he loves him. What do you think?
What dO I THINK!?
Yes anon yes fucking yes this!!
Everything you said is just perfect. Like did we forget the ch where he jumped into the water to save He Tian and risked his own life? That he was injured as a result and while He Tian was crying about it being his fault he never blamed him but simply told him he had to be stronger to protect the people he loves? That he had just clearly demonstrated his love for his younger brother? Has He Tian not taken those words to heart and jumped into the fray to protect the one he loves??
I don’t understand why people hate him either, hate is such a strong word, maybe dislike is better? I can see why people don’t like him don’t get me wrong, he is caught up in some drama. Like the attempted kidnap of Jian Yi (mind you at Jian Yi’s father’s request so we don’t know what’s really going on behind the scenes, & Jian Yi’s Father is obviously He Cheng’s boss so we don’t know if he threatened He Tian’s safety to ensure He Cheng complies, just saying we don’t freaking know) but then later we see his same group saving Jian Yi from imminent danger without hesitation, again risking their lives. Also, it seems like he killed the puppy He Tian saved when he was little which obviously was traumatic as He Tian has nightmares about that encounter but again we don’t know the whole story and OX has a habit of surprising us.
To touch on ur wonderful points yes, He Cheng I agree has a habit of trying to protect his 15 year old baby brother from the harsh realities of his world and honestly what caring sibling wouldn’t? Like you said I think his harsh and cold persona is a combination of his line of work as well as trying to keep some distance between himself and He Tian. He can’t let He Tian get wrapped up in the same mess as him, for all we know maybe he wants out. He even refused to acknowledge the Jian Yi kidnapping despite being a key player in it, he claimed ignorance probably to protect He Tian.
I think that’s why He Tian lives alone, maybe off the grid because He Cheng wants to protect him, keep him out of the dangerous lifestyle, out of the loop as you said. This chapter is really interesting cuz I thought He Tian had some inside info that he got from He Cheng but it seems like He Cheng does his best to keep him out of things. Which takes me back to Jian Yi’s first kidnapping how tf did He Tian know!? Anyways…
I definitely think He Cheng would prefer He Tian hate him then involve him in what’s going on and it breaks my heart. You have this adorable, precious little boy that idolizes his big brother, grow to hate him and to me it happens because of misunderstandings. He Cheng dropped everything he was doing (dude was in a tie, you don’t just put on a tie for kicks) to check up on the health of his baby brother, despite getting the middle finger last time we saw them interact. If that ain’t love idk what is ok.
Right now He Tian is in the top three at school in his grade despite the dysfunctional lifestyle he lives (alone at 15, essentially raising himself? Honestly wth?). Pretty amazing lbr. He’s very capable and I’m sure He Cheng knows this and is beyond proud and is constantly keeping tabs on him just to be safe. I think He Cheng wants He Tian to live the life he himself may not have gotten to experience whether He Tian likes it or not. I just really hope they can reconcile the sweet relationship they had and someday it can all be explained what sacrifices were made to get us to the point we are at now.
Thanks anon! 😢
He Tian's bro tho <3
SHIT JUST GOT REAL.
