At first, Nyx hadn’t noticed anything. It was a simple duty to guard the Princess -- or rather, guarding in general was a simple job. It was one he was used too. He learned how to remain very aware and alert, even with his mind drifting off to various thoughts -- so it was no surprise when he didn’t realize something ( or rather, someone ) was touching him so lightly. He was in line next to the Princess, so that already put his mind in a certain sense of ease -- knowing she probably wouldn’t do anything, and yet.
After the third brush against his hand, he realized something was going on. He paused his train of thought, this time waiting for it to happen again, and sure enough he didn’t need to wait long. Another soft touch across the back of his hand, fingers trailing so gently over his knuckles. Nyx glanced to his side, looking at Lunafreya for a moment to see if she had any form of reaction at all to her own actions, yet she remained as quiet and still all the same.
He didn’t really think much on his own actions, deciding to mimic the Princess in her little game. He reached over so gently, subtly, and grabbed her hand with is own, giving it a gentle little squeeze. He held her hand for a few moments more, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand before finally pulling away. For a change, that mirth that usually lingered in Nyx’s expression wasn’t there, rather it was replaced with something softer -- warmer.
“...Do they even let you hold hands with someone sometimes?” he questioned without thinking, the words slipping past him before he even had the chance to think of stopping them. His voice was so quiet when he spoke too, almost as if he was afraid of speaking, “...can’t imagine what that must be like if its true. Touch is a big thing in Galahd, its how we show we love our friends and family.”
There was almost a certain tone in saddness in his voice -- though whether it was sadness over the memories he was thinking on, or saddness for the Oracle, that was uncertain.
