I am really stuck on the string of episodes that have had Buck be referred to as "Mr. Buckley" by people making assumptions and dismissing him. Even going back to the episode with the Buckley parents. It's just so clear that the name is NOT Buck. He even says "dna is not destiny" and talks about his real family being the 118. They make a point to sort of separate himself from that family identity. Then the sheriff in New Mexico referring to him as that, "Mr. Buckley", when he assumes that Buck has been killed by Eddie and is NOT taking it seriously. Eddie's "we call him Buck" while Buck is calling himself Derek to survive and admitting he doesn't always know who he is anymore. Then in this episode the doctor who is making assumptions about the legitimacy of the car accident and being dismissive calling him "Mr. Buckley" multiple times to later have Chim initially call him "Buckley" when he's joking around, to then immediately softening to "Buck" when he realizes Buck is serious. Something Something about your real family knowing you and reminding you of who you actually are, even when you can't remember yourself.
