meet evan buckley: firefighter to all, good friend to most, real estate saboteur to one unfortunate fella
my nephew asked me to give him 10 forehead kisses for the 10 days I’ll be gone so he “doesn’t have nightmares” and he stuck a note into the book in my carry on that says “I love you so much”. So. I’m doing good. Feeling real normal. Not crying at all.
influencers are telling everyone to get off their birth control and repackaging sexist narratives about menstrual cycles as some kind of kind of cissexist "self-care" thing and all the stores are filled with ankle length floral dresses like is anyone else getting scared
“least fuckable person at the airport” in the streets, “most fuckable person in the grocery store” in the sheets

not enough talk about how competitive those dorks would get about being romantic. Buck setting a secret vibrate only alarm for 5am, and sleeping with his phone under his head so that he can make Eddie breakfast in bed on their one-week anniversary, just for him to wake up to an empty bed and Eddie in the kitchen with a full breakfast spread and ginormous flowers and a wink that says "Eddie - 1, Buck - 0". Eddie going to Chimney to ask to switch laundry duty with Buck, because he knows Buck hates it, just to find out Buck already switched to laundry to get Eddie out of mopping the floor. Buck and Eddie having to run their surprise vacation plans through Maddie and Ravi to make sure the other hasn't booked a surprise for the same weekend off. Both of them saying they're going for a run just to bump into each other in the grocery store checkout line and acting like they caught the other cheating, but really Buck was buying Eddie a bunch of the expensive baked goods ingredients that he knows Eddie likes and Eddie is buying a whole assortment of fruits for Buck that he planned on peeling and prepping for him. Both of them accidentally joining the same flash mob to surprise the other (Eddie saw it on facebook as an event called "Old Time Rock and Roll Flash Mob!", Buck found out through Hen, who thought it would be funny if they both went after she sees Eddie's comments on the event page). Buck sabotaging Eddie's proposal because he sniffed out what was up, but he already has a plan and a ring of his own. them polling the entire firehouse about who they think loves the other more, complete with propaganda and Ravi threatening to quit. Both spending 10k on the other the next time an auction happens. getting erotically competitive about how many of the heavy boxes they can carry for the other when they move in together.
"tell me in person" is kinda one of my favorite lines on the show. the absolute certainty bobby has in athena to do something that seems impossible even in-universe. no doubt in his mind she'll make it back to him. one of the most romantic scenes, and it's thanks to. a beenado.
I am once again asking for advice.
So, I grew up in one of those "barely scraping by" families that also had a mother who was deeply afraid of flying (we drove to Florida once from New England to see my grandparents). Otherwise trips were exclusive to the 45 minute drive to my grandparent's lake cottage. Then I went to college and I was so underwater with student loans and my job paid for my food and my books, I didn't take any trips anywhere. Then I became responsible for my nephew and those loans, so no trips then either. Basically, what I'm saying is that only just now am I taking a trip out of the U.S. and it'll be my first time on a plane (I'm going to a friend's wedding in London this June. Yes, I have heard the "you HAVE to travel!!!!!" lectures all before, it really just wasn't feasible for me before. but people still tell me, hence my over long explanation on why I didn't. Hoping to avoid any judgements from the masses).
Anyway, I am looking for any tips, tricks, little nuggets of advice. I don't anticipate being nervous on the plane, so less worried about that, more worried about packing and comfort while I'm there and all that. Literally any piece of advice is welcome!
