Where Are They Now?
With Civil War approaching in less than a month (well, where I live. I know it comes out earlier in other places), and with AoU not being completely disregarded in this blog’s canon, my guys will have to drift apart from each other. Just a little bit, though.
At the beginning of the year, Steve managed to find an apartment that was only a few blocks away from the Avengers Tower. By February, he’d moved into the apartment for good, but a lot of his things can still be found around the Tower. Tony even gave Steve money that was enough for an entire year’s worth of rent and utilities. Tony was disappointed, but he supported the decision. He and the captain were off-again on-again friends anyway.
Steve moving out would have been easier to deal with if Bruce consistently stayed at the Tower during the moving process. After the events of AoU, Bruce would disappear and return more often than he originally did. Not only that, but he would be gone for longer periods of time. Instead of a week, Tony wouldn’t see Bruce for 30 days. When Bruce is as the Tower, he’ll still work beside Tony in the labs as if he’s not acting strange at all. Bruce never talked about why he kept leaving, so Tony never asked.
TL;DR: Steve has moved out of the Tower but still visits. Bruce keeps leaving for weeks at a time, but he comes back...eventually. Tony feels that he did something wrong to make his close friends of 3 or 4 years want to drift away from him.
