micah loves having friends so much that they don’t want to ruin any good relationships in order to progress them further. they also don’t think they’re that deserving of other’s time, especially with people they find to be amazing enough to accept them.
if your muse happens to want more from micah than just a partnership/friendship, then it’ll take a lot of time and patience to help them not see themselves as a burden and less deserving than others.
sexual relationships would also be difficult for the above reasons, but also because they have a lot of issues with touch and past trauma. they’d have to trust you before you could get into that kind of relationship.
Micah has some sensory issues (as a part of both their abilities in magercraft and how they work), so certain textures and sounds are not pleasant. Depending on the level on intensity, it can range from mild annoyance to overstimulating and painful.
In general, their pet peeves include the following: invasion of personal space without asking, people trying to talk to them while they’re listening to music and/or interrupting them constantly, not asking to borrow their stuff (they would more than likely say yes so what was the point of not mentioning anything), and loud banging.
When it comes to people, Micah doesn’t exactly have a favorite scent. Usually they don’t find much repulsive, except for the scent of perfume. The more expensive, the less they like it.
Outside of people, they love both light floral and fruit-scented items. Fresh produce is probably one of the best scents to them (outside of freshly made meals), and they adore berries the most. You’ll find them picking out shampoos and body washes with anything of the like.
I mentioned that Micah is morally complicated as a person, and that stems from both trauma and repression as a child.
When they were younger, they knew things weren’t the best and people hurt them, but it didn’t really hit them until the middle of their teen years. They had been exposed to their mother’s abusive partner, their neglectful mother, and then both sides of their family (which were also abusive in their own ways).
Their family said things that made them question everything: that they were an unofficial mage, that they weren’t good enough, and (the final nail in the coffin) that even their mother didn’t want them.
They also do not believe in good and evil. To them, neither exist, or if they do, they blend in so well that not one person’s belief is right or wrong. It just exists for that person to live their life however they please, and that is it. This does come from the fact that the people that were in their life were deemed “good”, but then did unspeakable things that ended up destroying Micah’s health.
Micah believes that life is a precious thing, and to take away life is something they could never do. However, due to viewing their existence as an unwanted mistake, they are not against dying and having someone kill them. If they are undeserving to live, then it’s only fair someone kills them. They would not hold it against them or deem them evil.
They do not kill others, not because it is wrong, but because that person cannot expand if they die. It would be the end of their growth, and even if letting them live would result in that person’s suffering, Micah would never kill a single person.
They will not stop another person from killing another, unless that person is someone they’re attached to. Right now, there happens to be no one they have emotional attachment to. In fact, if someone were to kill everyone in their family, they wouldn’t even shed a tear. However, they would wish to see how their mother died, because of reasons.
☾ : On a sleepless night, what would they be found doing?
Micah has had many sleepless nights (nightmares happen frequently), so it’s not uncommon of them to make some coffee and go into their grandfather’s study. They’ll read for hours, even past the breaking of sunlight, until they’re able to get themselves back to sleep. Sometimes, not even that works.
☆ : Would they ever wish upon a falling star? If so, what would they wish?
At this point in their life, no. Back when Micah was younger, they wished upon the stars (falling or not) many times. It became a bedtime ritual; dream and wish that they could escape and live a life where they were safe and had the power to do what they wished. Nowadays, they wonder if maybe that had led them to their life as a Mage, but that might be magical thinking. Might.
❤ : Describe a physical action that shows complete trust.
There’s a couple of things that one can note that you have their complete trust. One of them is eye contact. If Micah barely knows a person, they will not have direct eye-to-eye contact. They might seem like they’re giving their full attention, but they know how to make it look like that. If they trust you, they don’t mind having direct eye contact.
Another thing is sleeping around the person they trust. Micah will stay up until others are dead asleep, even when tired, just so they know that they can rest in peace.
✏ : What are their creative outlets?
Pretty much anything: Micah is a mixed artist. They’ve done a variety of mediums and outlets, including fashion design, sketching, poetry and prose – you name it, they’ve probably done it once or twice.
In most cases, there are two scenarios for what Micah would wish for, should they ever win the Holy Grail.
The first is they wouldn’t make a wish. Deep in Micah’s belief system is the idea that regardless of how grand of a wish, something can (and will) go wrong. Vague, general ideas are too massive for a wish-granting device, and they have nothing specific they’d change. They think, even overthink, over such a concept and deem they have nothing worth changing if they couldn’t do it themselves.
The second is a very rare exception, and is something they wouldn’t share if it came down to it. Since this is situational, this would depend on the events previously to orchestrate such a thought in the first place: They would wish for a revamping of the world and it’s systems, including the Mage’s Association, the Holy Church, and in general mage society. They want a system that benefits everyone.
At one point in the prologue of the VN, Rin says something along the lines of “mages focus on the past while humans focus on the future”. Micah believes the world should focus on the present, and thus the two should combine their efforts in making a better world for everyone.
And yes, they know that is very idealistic and borderline heretical, but they would accept the anarchy if that meant that society would change. If Micah was in a bad enough mental space, then they’d be okay with the destruction of humans if that ideal could never be met.
Micah’s disposition towards Servants is irregular if one hasn’t noticed.
In regards of the Heroic Spirit, they find calling them a Servant is disrespectful. No one, much less someone like a Heroic Spirit, should be called that. Of course, in the presence of other Mages, they will refer to their contracted partner by their class name, but they will drop that immediately once alone. Micah values their partnership enough that even through their terrible self-esteem that they declare both of them as equals.
In any case, Micah will always talk with their contracted partner. Communication is important in any relationship, and they want to do their best in providing something for their stay and assistance. Even if it might be “a waste”, they will provide food and shelter.
Being called a Master is also something that leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Would they personally consider themselves worthy of the title of “Master”? Absolutely not. At best, they just succeeded in a huge task and are now appointed with the next. It puts a lot of pressure on their shoulders being called such, since they fear the idea of being judged based on their worth as a Mage. With the complications in their own family, they don’t expect anyone to be impressed with them.
