Turns out that Sparrow might be aromantic???
But this means she’s, like, super awesome as tech support, even though she’s a field agent
disarming bombs, boosting radio signals, building trackers on the spot
I’m not gonna re-evaluate it cause
but the thing is Sparrow can build something, from scratch, that already exists, and she doesn’t usually need a manual, or a guide
She can build a computer, a TV, a car, a phone/communicator
but as per STING, she can build a teleporter, a time machine - if she felt so inclined. She could build trackers and weapons and computer systems
she’s also super-cool with upgrading things. She’ll take that radio and boosts its signal; she’ll take your phone and make the battery last ten times longer; that computing system is gonna work so much faster once she’s done with it
like she doesn’t even need the actual components, bc she’s super resourceful, yes
Oh, but Sparrow being super-protective and defensive of the things she’s built
Like she doesn’t let anyone touch it without her permission and only if they’re trained and she always gets really argumentative when something doesn’t work, because she built it and she doesn’t fail
and, like, 9/10, it’s probably some extenuating circumstance and her project worked exactly like it was supposed to, even if it didn’t complete the job
and she knows that, which is why she gets a little depressed when it doesn’t work and it’s her fault
because this was supposed to be something she can rely on, but it didn’t work
she also knows how to sew, which is good when someone’s wounded in battle and she needs to do a quick fix to stop bleeding
but beyond the basic first aid training, she doesn’t know much about medicine. She can clean wounds, stitch them up, deal with blood flow and stuff, but beyond that, she wouldn’t be much help - that’s why med-bay exists, after all
however she lacks a distinct skill for anything musical or artistic
beyond drawing out diagrams and blueprints, or mapping out buildings etc, she doesn’t really have the drawing skills. She doesn’t do painting either, but she enjoys looking at the work. She knows when something aesthetically pleasing.
she struggles with science too. Math is easier because figures come easy to her, plus she uses it in her engineering escapades. She knows the periodic table and some basic science but some of the more advanced physics and chemistry baffle her. The science that she understands best is the mechanical stuff but when they start talking about chemical reactions and gravitational wells and stuff, it kind of washes over her.
her cooking skills, too, are largely limited to sandwiches and a few basic meals - she prefers to stick to dairy meals, rather than meat, so she’s something of a low-key vegetarian? She does eat eggs and drink milk but it’s easier to avoid meat than dairy, so she plays vegetarian because it works for the Jewish
she’s not good at being domestic either. She’s probably never cleaned a day in her life. She could probably unblock a toilet or fix a shower but she’s never needed to, so that’s a life skill she’s lacking.
