Primrose loved babies; she did. But, unfortunately, she had enrolled in online classes to finish her education, and that required sleep. Sleep that was frequently interrupted by a child’s crying. Other neighbours had complained, and Prim had quietly agreed because it wasn’t just crying that lasted a few minutes, it was crying that lasted a long time.
Groaning at being waken up at three AM, she found herself pulling her robe around her too-thin body. She had to get up early for a test, and she needed her sleep. She had planned on knocking on their door and asking them to try to keep it down, but as soon as she opened her door, he could see a young man, probably around her age, trying to rock a baby back and forth in attempt to get them to stop crying. All annoyance left her body as she smiled softly. “Have ya tried givin’ t’em a bottle?”

noah hadn’t intended on leaving josh. he hadn’t intended on that at all. things were going good--they were going strong for three years. but then the talk of marriage started to pop up more and more during one of noah’s strikes against taking anti-psychotics. so he started to get more and more paranoid and delusional until he left. he ended up in a psych ward not long after that with a breakdown.
it was three long months since he had seen josh. three months since they had spoken. but that didn’t stop from showing up at the other’s door step, in the pouring rain, when he was having a bad episode and hallucinating his rapist every where. he was shivering from the cold by the time josh opened the door. “i-i didn’t know where to go,” he managed to get out, his voice shaky as his bottom lip trembled.
