My favourite 5 watt #tubeamp (the @headstrong_amps #SC5) is on sale this week at @folkwaymusic! To me this is the perfect home #amp...5 watts so the neighbours (probably) won’t call the police, but unlike so many other 5 watt #amps (I’m looking at you vintage blackface and narrow panel tweed #Fender #Champ!) it comes in a bigger cabinet (the size of a #PrincetonReverb in fact) and has 10” speaker rather than a Champ’s 8”. Because of these two features it sounds a lot bigger than your average small box 5 watt amp, without having to level up to a much louder 12 watt #Princeton-esque amp. Plus it has a full sized reverb tank, three band eq, and tremolo effect...none of which a Champ has. And it’s on sale this week for $300 off regular price...$1799 CAD (reg $2099 CAD)! It finally happened: after years of #amp collecting, #ToneHenge™ has finally “wrapped around” onto a second wall! Mind you, the 1966 #Fender #SuperReverb (under the TV) and the chopped 1 x 12 1968 Super Reverb in the blond cabinet (bottom, right) are merely on loan from @tomgibson3783, so the wraparound is just temporary.
