In an interview a while back, Vince Gill said that song, Threaten Me with Heaven, was inspired by Amy Grant's father near the end of his life. When asked how he was feeling, he responded with something like, "Why be scared? What can they do—threaten me with heaven?" Great songs come from great moments.
