I'm going to start again. I have given up and now it is time to start once more. I know I can do this.
August Goals
This is my first official month of my life change. I hope to accomplish a lot of things and see more body changes. My goals are: •Monday - Friday = 30 minute workouts •no sugary drinks •continue to portion control •attempt to jump rope or walk/jog for 10-15 minutes
2016 is my year...
last year was not the greatest for me. it was full of many tears and many tainted memories. when things went sour for me, the year ended with me beginning 2016 in tears. literally. that’s when i decided to make a change in my life. so i decided that in 2016, that it was going to be a different year for me: emotionally, mentally and physically. i told myself that i will make myself stronger emotionally and find what makes me happy. mentally i will make myself stronger by learning to make myself happy and worry less about others. i told myself i would make myself stronger physically by working on my own physical self either by what i consume or by what i do to change myself to make myself feel happy... and that’s what i’ve done.
i am learning to find ‘happiness’ in every way i can such as:
i wake up in the morning and i meditate inhaling the good vibes and exhaling the negativity.
i french press my own coffee in the morning to get ready for the day and i drink tea at night to calm myself down before i go to bed.
i am consuming more greens, fruits and packing my own meals to maintain a healthy and light vibe for the day.
i am focusing on my school work to make sure that i am going to graduate by the end of this year.
i am surrounding myself by good vibes and good people and removing people that don’t make me happy.
i take every opportunity that comes my way that normally i never would have seized to do.
i journal my emotions to make sure that all the negativity is channeled in a healthy way.
i try to run or exercise as much as i can in order to relieve my stress in a positive way.
2016 is a selfish year. yes, a selfish year. it is a year where time is invested in me. i am putting myself before i put others, remembering that i am worthy, and that as long as i try as hard as i can and if things don't work-out at least i gave it everything i had. 2016, is about me improving myself. i want to become a better person physically, mentally and, most definitely, emotionally; and so far all the bridges that were burned in 2015, are lighting my way.
Day 6: April 7, 2014
This is a late post!!! Anyway, yesterday was a great workout day!!! I worked out with my big and Eugene! They wanted me to lift weights with them but I wasn't ready haha. Yesterday's workout:
30 minutes on the bike for warm up
5 sets x 10 reps on the total abdominal machine with 20 lbs. There was an extra 5 reps on the last set (55 total).
2 sets x 10 reps on the leg curl machine with 30 lbs
2 sets x 10 reps on the Roman chair (hanging leg raises)
only 1 set x 10 reps on the standing calf raise machine
and 1 set x 10 on the V squat machine
I felt so good yesterday!!! My lower abs hurt though lol.
Food I ate:
Breakfast - 2 hardboiled eggs & string cheese
Lunch after workout - Dick's burger (special) and milkshake. Just because biggie craved some lol.
Early dinner - Ham sandwich (there were lettuce, mayonnaise, tomatoes, and ham duh lol) on ciabatta bread, 5 slices of apple and a vent white chocolate mocha (I actually shared and didn't finish it but still T___T)
Day 5: April 6, 2014
My cousin worked out with me today, and it was great! Today wasn't like other days though, I only had 35 minutes of workout today but it was really fun. We just did this video: http://youtu.be/NUieo6Mc9EA. We also had a 10 minute walk.
Food I ate today were:
Brunch - Rice with hotdog omelette, and a little of the calamansi sauce.
Snack before workout - maple and brown sugar oatmeal
Snack after workout - pandesal with liver spread
Dinner - I steamed asparagus then put salt and mayo, cooked spinach omelette and tuna adobo and ate it with rice.
Snack after dinner - about 15 pieces of fish cracker.
I forgot to log all the food I ate yesterday T.T I also couldn't workout.
Day 4: April 4, 2014
Another good workout day!!! I felt so energetic and alive after working out. Today's workout were:
30 minutes on the bike
20 minutes on the elliptical
2 sets x 50 reps on the total abdominal machine with 40 lbs.
1 set x 10 reps (20 lbs.) + 1 set x 5 reps (15 lbs.) + 1 set x 10 reps (10 lbs.) on the shoulder press
30 minute walk
Still trying to figure out why I can't post pictures!!! But here's what I ate:
Breakfast - a half (breakfast) burrito from DUB Street with half a bottle of Fuze Iced Tea - I'm not completely sure what were in the burrito, but I saw eggs, I think there were onions, something green haha, and cheese.
Lunch - the other half of the burrito, and one whole (huge) orange.
Snack when I got home - a skinny cow heavenly crisp bar
Early dinner (5 PM) - Johnny Rockets' tuna melt with a side of fries. I forgot I could've changed the side to a salad but :((( haha.
Snack(s) when I woke up from my late nap - 1 piece of turon (deep fried lady finger banana wrapped in a spring roll wrapper with brown sugar (outside the wrap) and jackfruit (in the wrap), 10 pieces of fish crackers, and half a corn.
I know the snacks were unhealthy, especially the later snacks, but my mom made those and she really wanted me to try them.
April 3, 2014
Today wasn't a workout day (which sucks!!!) because my schedule was really packed:
ENGL 131 started at 8:30 and ended at 10:20.
1 hour gap then quiz section for SOC 201 from 11:30-12:20.
2 hour gap but the gym was really far from the building for my next class, and I didn't want to risk being late so I did my readings instead then walked for 15 minutes.
SOC WF 215 was from 2:30-5:20.
After that I went to the Founder's Week event for us Sigmas and that was from 6-7:30, then I bussed home (got home at around 8:40).
What I ate today (still can't upload them):
Breakfast - grande white chocolate mocha and a banana. I didn't want to buy coffee but I was really tired and sleepy. I know that's not proper breakfast but I didn't have enough time to make one.
Lunch - a portion in a small container of the macaroni salad I made the night before (macaroni salad, of course, with cucumber, cheese, celery and boiled egg).
Snack after lunch - broccoli with mayonnaise and a little salt!!! haha you should definitely try it, whoever may read this.
Snack during class - our facilitator brought us some haha but I had grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and a tangerine.
Snack during our event - a hardboiled egg
"Dinner" - a handful of veggie chips, and a strawberry & banana smoothie with cucumber and greek yogurt. That wasn't a proper meal either, I know, but my dad didn't have time to cook so that's all I ate.
I know my meals/snacks are a little uncoordinated, but only 3 days have passed since I started working out again so I'm still trying to get used to having a healthy and balanced diet.
