This was part of my Monday practice. My feet are finally getting closer again to my head. The feeling of my body starting to open again is amazing... though I acknowledge that the main reason I practice Asanas like this one is because I enjoy them but also because some challenging postures act as a mirror for me, showing me the state of my spine and my breath, and as a consequence the state of my mind and body. The path of yoga is about the inside world and even if the asana helps to look inside (if practiced with the elements of focusing the attention, energetic locks and the right breath) there is no real need of too much Asana. The whole being is involved, including the body, but the key to access our internal universe and transcend our limitations of the mind, is in our breath and the absolute presence in it. I do believe in Asana as a method to purify the body and keep it healthy, and also to access the inside world, but I also believe it is just a door, there is much more we have to do to learn to cross the threshold. #asana #heandstand #vrschikasana #scorpion #yogapractice #asanapractice #backbends #yogaisequanimity #luanafarayoga (at Balance Yoga Studio)
