Listening to God's Voice!
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 Have you ever noticed the profound peace that comes from truly listening? In our fast-paced world, it can often be challenging to quiet the noise and tune into what matters. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). This verse invites us into a deeper relationship through…

Genesis 1:1-2 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”
Long before the Holy Spirit filled or stirred or gifted or convicted or sealed or revealed or reminded, we find Him hovering over the surface of the deep. And He is still hovering over our lives the way He hovered over creation.
He still speaks light into darkness.
He still brings order out of chaos.
He still makes beauty out of ashes.
The Hebrew word used to describe God’s proximity is paniym, and it’s multidimensional. In regard to time, paniym refers to the split second before and the split second after—a parenthesis in time. In regard to space, paniym refers to the place right in front and right in back—a parenthesis in space.
He is God with us in every sense of the word.
He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother!
A.W. Tozer pictured paniym this way: “God is above, but He’s not pushed up. He’s beneath, but He’s not pressed down. He’s outside, but He’s not excluded. He’s inside, but He’s not confined. God is above all things presiding, beneath all things sustaining, outside of all things embracing and inside of all things filling.”
The Holy Spirit is hovering. The Holy Spirit is whispering. The Holy Spirit is breathing into you the same breath He breathed into the dust bowl named Adam.

God is actively speaking through: Scripture, Desires, Doors, Dreams, People, Promptings, and Pain. Batterson gives you the tools you need to unlock each of these languages.

The Dilemma of Obedience
Samuel was afraid to tell Eli the vision. —1 Samuel 3:15
God never speaks to us in dramatic ways, but in ways that are easy to misunderstand. Then we say, “I wonder if that is God’s voice?” Isaiah said that the Lord spoke to him “with a strong hand,” that is, by the pressure of his circumstances (Isaiah 8:11). Without the…

Hearing God: Developing a Conversational Relationship with God
Author(s): Dallas Willard Publisher: Intervarsity Press Price: $4.99 (Ends Jan 22)
“God spoke to me.” “The Spirit spoke to my heart.” “God revealed the idea to me.” Being close to God means communicating with him–telling him what is on our hearts in prayer and hearing and understanding what he is saying to us. It is this second half of our conversation with God that is so important but that can also be so difficult. How do we hear his voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear? The key, says best-selling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this updated and expanded edition of Willard’s beloved book, originally published as In Search of Guidance, you’ll gain rich spiritual insight into how we can hear God’s voice clearly and develop an intimate partnership with him in the work of his kingdom. Including new material from Dallas Willard’s teaching at the Renovaré Institute and reformatted to be even easier to read, this classic continues to endure as one of today’s best resources for learning to listen closely to God.
