Speed drawing of the Heart Moving cover
I usually record my progress to see how long I take to draw but then I delete the videos because of... storage. But I really like how Jan looks here. Probably one of my favourite drawings of Jan ever.

I did some EQ, but I didn't isolate any of the instruments for this one.
Whilst I really love all the endings (especially ‘I’ll go with my looks’ from SuperS) I think this ending might just be the best of them all for several reasons. Firstly, it’s a testament to the power of minimalism. There is very little going on here and very little animation but it’s still effective. More importantly I think it succeeds because it actually tells a perfect 3 Act story all by itself.
Act 1: A woman is waiting alone in a forest.
Act 2: She starts to doubt and give into despair. A classic second act low point
Act 3: The person she is waiting for appears, they embrace, a happy ending is achieved.
In microcosm it delivers on a universal human story. Birth. Death. Rebirth. Almost every culture has a foundational mythos or story involving those themes.
And the specifics of the story and the scenery are pitch perfect for Sailor Moon, especially the season 1 Dark Kingdom arc. The forest setting, the woman who is clearly supposed to be a princess of some kind, the ‘Prince Charming’ figure and the obvious romantic subtext that is intended.
