Heya, sorry for the super specific question but I saw that you'll be at MCM London again! For some reason I didn't find your shop last time (sooooo many tables) and was so sad because I wanted to buy the Blaidd print so badly, so I'm super happy to get the chance again (I actually have a Blaidd cosplay this time! ha) - are you bringing the print again? And do you know where you'll be table-wise? :D
Hiya!
I'll be at table A-19, so I think that will be somewhere along the first row of Artist Alley, facing the direction of the rest of the vendor spaces??
I have reprinted the Blaidd print for the event, and I am very excited to see your Blaidd cosplay if you have a chance to drop by!!!
Heya! :) I hope it isn't too presumptous but I was wondering if you mind if people use your art as icon? I would love to use Vesemir's face from your most recent TWO BOYFRIENDS!!!! comic as my new profile pic, crediting you in the first line of the description ofc (no problem if not, too)! Thank you for all your wonderful art over the months, it's absolutely wonderful (:

Answers under the cut because as expected it got pretty long (like everyone elses I bet lol)
1. What project are you most proud of and why?
Does drawing generally everything Witcher count? Because oh boy did I draw a lot! I may not draw a lot of it now but the Lambden (also hi Coën eventually) Griffins Au is still dear and close to my heart because how couldn’t it be? It has baby Griffins in it!
I did technically start it (and the ER-AU which I also like because I am weak for any hurt/comfort okay) at the end of last year but really ran with it at the beginning of this year so as the CEO of my blog I’ll let it count and keep the same going for the rest of the questions.
2. Which project did you have the most fun making?
don’t make me choose please
I don’t really draw something if I don’t enjoy it (i am my own intended audience)
There are different joys to be found with different projects I did. The Griffins AU is mostly dumb fun to be had, drawing Gwent only characters is always nice if only to have more content on them (i am starving) and anything I draw of my own characters I always great because...I made them....I love them (even if I do have favourites <-<)
3. Which project was the most unexpected and/or challenging and why?
This year was a year of mostly relaxing and not challenging myself too much but there were still days where I really wanted to put out an idea but my hands wouldn’t cooperate but I put it out anyway even if it may not have been at the best possible level art wise
Unexpected were pretty much all of them because I didn’t expect to fall so deep into The Witcher hole and definitely not just sticking to rare/rarer characters most of the time (rip me)
also animatics are always challenging just because they need a lot of work and attention compared to a single drawing or a couple of comic panels, but they are also very rewarding
I may not have shown anything for it but I also experimented a lot with blender, making some basic designs for buildings to use as reference for my own worlds, playing with 2d “animation”/picture manipulation/effects in many ways and I also want to go make some actual useable models for items (like weapons or other items regularly used by my characters because I know I will need them a lot eventually and setting down a design and being able to use a 3d model as reference is just an ease of life that I very much need)
And of course trying to model actual humans, which I mostly figured out by now so the next exercise is to make clothing actually...exist
4. Which project would you like to receive more attention?
all of the above
An easy answer would be anything concerning my ocs, but before I can ask that to happen I maybe should make actual content aside from basic art (the animatics are a whole different field and I will get back into them but I AM actually writing story points down at the moment)
The attention I have gotten this year actually exceeded my expectations, even for characters I was sure wouldn’t get as much (even if it’s “just” 20 notes or something, for a side thing of an au of the source material that only a couple people really know about and then even fewer concern themselves with specific characters-it’s more than I expected it really is! On that note, read yourself into cdpr gwent lore if you want more Witcher game stuff/content, also ttrpg’s exist too-there is a whole world out there just hidden away. Also Thronebreaker. I haven’t made anything for it but Thronebreaker)
5. Is there a project you intended to work on but couldn’t find the time? If so, what is it?
Not really “being unable to work on”-kind but “being unable to work on as much as I wanted to”-kind.
This really does just concern actually writing/drawing my own stuff unrelated to existing content.
I did get ahead and managed to focus on mostly 1 story (and then another came which I noted down and then put to the side because god help me I need to finish one damn thing eventually and I’ll make myself because I WANT this to exist so badly) but I did want to get ahead a bit more.
However I am glad I am taking my time because during it the story and characters have changed quite a bit from my base idea and gained more of their own identity and even now I am getting new ideas which just.... work and it’s really fun
So I do want to focus a bit on that and get all those great ideas I obtained with a bit of extra thinking just a bit faster and form it all into a coherent ball of storytelling....and then I’ll decide if I have the energy to make it into a whole comic or write it out or do both....idk yet (help)
6. Have you noticed an improvement in your skill this year? Did a specific project help?
Generally yes because I let myself be more loose with my art. Not just in terms of using multiple styles but also the styles themselves often enough. I didn’t aim for cleanliness but am more comfortable with keeping things rough and found the joy of experimenting with textures which just aid that look. Not to say I don’t also use clean blocky styles when I want to because they are also fun to do.
In another way I also “improved” but just leaving things imperfect. All the Witcher (au’s) more comedic comic-esque art helped with that because I was not going to make a full art gallery of priceless images for a 4-panel-strip I made for fun where the main part is about what is happening and not necessarily the art itself
7. If you could remake any project you’ve created this year, which one would it be and why?
If I made any “big” art then probably those simply because I have improved compared to the start of this year (also clip studio pain now has a liquify tool that i do intend to abuse as much as possible to make all the small changes you notice afterwards and draw over them etc)
8. What project would you like to make next year?
Other than my oc-stuff I don’t have specific ideas really
I mean, it’d be nice if I could put down some character designs for unseen Witchers that I do care for (coughs in Kiyan)(coughs in cat witchers in general-i love you all but god damn can you show your face (skin included) like once at least please? thats taking stealth to a new level) but I am not going to force that or focus purely on that
And Witcher-wise, maybe I’ll go expand my ideas out to other characters I haven’t yet focused on (this really is a maybe because that is not a plan but a possibility as I am expanding my general fic-reading and thus who I care about....and also some people I follow are good at spreading their tastes)
I’ll just see where it takes me and what new ideas will come from my brain or from other people going wild in the tags so that I’ll just have to do something with that
I generally would like to actually do some more 3d stuff as previously mentioned if “only” to help me out with my 2d art
And ofc I want to go find more time/energy/inspiration for animatics because I do love seeing them (if only they could exist by thinking them up i swear)
I don’t think I’ll do more big illustrated art pieces than this year compared to the simpler ones simply because one is faster to think of and do than the other but also because I am not always in the mood for all the fancy stuff but it’d be nice to work on them if only to mess around with less simplified styles but we shall see
Your daily doodles give me so much life, thank you so much for all the effort that goes into them!!! I look forward to seeing them every time I log on to Tumblr :'''))))
Ah! No, thank you for enjoying them! I honestly draw for my own enjoyment so it’s wild that others like it as well.
