cough jd x male reader fluff 👀 you got free range with this tbh I don't rlly mind
(this fandom is dead and I fear you're one of the few that still are open to writing heathers/haven't deactivated 🥹)
His Dork || Jason Dean x male! reader
Summary: JD helps you choose which one from your plethora of movies to watch together (spoiler alert: they're all Disney)
Warnings/contains: grumpy x sunshine trope, reader has a really bubbly personality, reader is an avid fan of (old) Disney (and has a bunch of DVDs instead of using Disney+ because I'm an advocate for owning physical media), kissing, JD calls reader "dork" affectionately, implied smoking/cigarette mention, JD also calls reader "pretty boy" as a petname, teasing, suggestive comments
Beginning notes: I've pretty much only been writing for the pitt lately, but since you were so sweet with asking I've decided to make an exception for you 🥰 I can never turn down a male reader fic hehe 💕 (plus you're so right about how there's so much fewer content for heathers lately so hopefully I can help amend that) hope you enjoy!
"Do you wanna come over? We can watch a movie and cuddle," your cheerful voice rambled on the other end of the voice as JD listened in. "I have The Aristocats, and Oliver and Company, and 101 Dalmatians."
"Do you have anything that isn't Disney?" he deadpanned at the options given. The sarcasm in his voice was evident, though he knew you well enough by this point to figure that you'd answer sincerely anyway. Whether that was because you didn't pick up the tone or you were just ignoring it, he wasn't sure.
"Hm…" there was the sound of muffled footsteps and soft rustling as you began what he could only assume was searching through the rest of your DVDs. "Ooh, I have A Bug's Life!"
He let out a quiet sigh and resisted the urge to make another snarky comment. "That's still Disney, babe. It's Disney Pixar, which technically counts."
"Oh, yeah…" your voice trailed off as you went back to looking, and he heard you muttering to yourself as you sorted through the stack of movies, trying to find something that wasn't animated and didn't involve talking animals. Or insects. "Ugh, I give up," you declared dramatically, the squeaky sound of springs bouncing beneath you from where you'd flopped down onto the mattress making its way through the phone and to his ear.
JD merely snorted at your theatrics. God, you were adorable. "How about you keep looking, and if you still haven't found something by the time I get there, I'll choose for you?"
"Okaaaayyyyyy," came your drawn out reply, all whiny and reluctant, like a toddler finally agreeing to a nap. "But I wanna still talk to you on the phone."
"You can talk to me in a few minutes, dork," he replied with an affectionate eye roll that you could practically see through the phone. "Just hang tight."
"Okaaayyy. I love you."
It was quiet for a moment before he responded with "love you, too", all muffled and soft; then he hung up. You didn't take it personally. Despite all of his grand speeches and declarations of undying devotion, he rarely said the actual words "I love you" unless you did it first.
You were still flipping through DVDs when you heard his motorcycle pull up somewhere outside before rumbling to a stop, his head poking through the windowpane a few moments later.
"Do you always leave your window open for anyone to wander in?" He questioned almost accusingly, as though he were seriously judging you for making such a poor decision.
"Um, no. I'm not stupid," you retorted at his words, glancing up from the DVD you were holding to see him shucking off his leather overcoat after climbing inside. "I left it open because I knew you'd be coming over, duh."
"Hm." It didn't sound as though he believed you, but he decided not to push the subject. "Find something for us to watch yet?"
"No. Urgh, why does this have to be so difficult?" You were sitting in a spot on the floor that was surrounded on all sides by movie cases, most of which were Disney.
"How about…" JD knelt down on the floor beside you, a barrier of DVDs separating your bodies. "…we watch this?" He reached for one of the movies before holding it up for you to see. The Lion King. Typical that'd be the one he chose, since he secretly enjoyed the turmoil involving Scar and the hyenas.
He saw the way your eyes lit up with unbridled joy, squealing before you launched yourself at him, DVDs scattering in a mess across the floor, not that you seemed to notice or care. You peppered his face with affectionate kisses, not missing the gruff laughs that escaped him at your excitement.
"You're such a dork," he huffed with faux exasperation that you quickly shut up with a sweet peck to the lips.
"But you love me anyway," you countered with a grin before getting off him and standing, grabbing his hand so you could tug him over to the bed for cuddles.
"Yeah, yeah," he agreed with a playful eye roll, watching you put the movie in while he leaned back against your pillows. He reached down into the pockets of his jeans for a lighter and a spare cigarette, but before he could even get them out fully you were already whipping around and pointing a chastising finger at him.
"No. You're not smoking in my room, so you can just forget it."
He scoffed and slumped down further on the bed. "Hey, what's the big deal? You don't have a problem with it any other time."
"Because any other time I don't have to worry about you using my pillow as an ashtray," you shot back without missing a beat, climbing into bed with him and cuddling up to his side. "That's what."
He let out a loud sigh, as if you were inconveniencing him. "Alright, pretty boy. If you say so." The corners of his lips curled upwards into a smug smirk at the flustered shriek you let out before burying your face into his chest. He absolutely loved it when you got like this, all giggly and unable to think properly over something he did or said.
"Y'know, you keep your face in my chest like that, and you're gonna miss the movie. Which is the whole reason why I came over here to begin with," he murmured in a low and smooth voice, dipping his head down to speak right next to your ear. "Unless you've got something else in mind for keeping me entertained?"
"JD!" You squawked while giving him a light shove, feeling as your face began to heat up at his teasing. "Stop that. You're doing it on purpose."
"If you say so," he shrugged and pulled his head back, still smirking as an arm moved up to curl possessively around your waist. "I still say you're a dork for making me watch Disney movies of all things."
"But I'm your dork," you pointedly replied, grinning up at him with a delighted twinkle in your eyes.
"Yeah, yeah." He reached up and playfully flicked you on the nose, enjoying the surprised fit of giggles you erupted into at the action. "My dork."
End notes: I'm so sorry if jd's ooc or if this isn't very good, I tried my best to come up with a fluffy and cute plot for you dear anon 💔

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You’d gone out to a party with the heathers one night, unfortunately this party wasn’t exactly smooth sailing (not that any of them really were) and you ended up at Jd’s house, not wanting to face your parent’s impending scolding for coming home so late.
“Jd.” You mumbled his name as you stumbled through his window. Didn’t help that you weren’t exactly sober and his room wasn’t exactly lit.
“Y/N? What the fuck?” He was startled at someone entering his room.
“I didn’t really have anywhere else to go. Is your dad home?” You asked, trying to manage your way through his bedroom.
“Probably not.” He muttered, his irritation palpable.
You felt your way around, sitting down on his desk, looking towards what you could only assume was the direction of his bed.
“What do you want Y/N?” He stood up and flicked his light on.
“Are you mad at me?” You asked, nonchalantly.
Wow. The audacity of you.
That question was beyond frustrating for him, to the point where his frustration was beginning to boil over. He gave you a blank stare, mixed with confusion and anger, half expecting you to take it back.
“No— Ye— I don’t know!” Jd exclaimed, his voice edged with exasperation. He ran a hand through his hair, leaning his back against his door in vexation.
You sat there, bewildered at his sudden change in energy, “what?”
He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to regain his composure. “Just tell me, Y/N, is there someone?”
“What, someone? What?” You were utterly confused by the direction of this conversation.
“God, Y/N, do I have to spell it out for you? Are you with someone? Is there a guy you are seeing?”
“What the fuck? No! Where’d you get that idea from?”
“Because! I practically laid out a red carpet for you! And I got nothing! Are you that oblivious, really?” He began making his way over to you.
You furrowed your brow, still clueless about what was happening. “Jd, I’m kinda tipsy and confused. What’s happening? Why are you getting so upset?”
“I’ve been practically waving a flag in your face begging for a chance and you refuse to acknowledge it! And you have the nerve to come in here and ask me if I’m mad at you? So, yeah, actually, I am pretty upset.” He ranted as he stood in front of you.
Your eyes widened in shock as realisation slowly dawned on you. “You’ve been asking me out?”
Jd let out a frustrated groan. “Yes, Y/N, God, have I been.”
You bit your lip, now feeling a little guilty, seeing how much you were unknowingly hurting his feelings.
“I had no idea, Jd, really. I didn’t think you were interested in me that way.”
He sighed, his anger beginning to subside, now that he’d aired everything out. “Well I am, and now you know. It’s been driving me crazy.”
You reached out to him, placing a hand on his arm. “I promise, I never meant to ignore you. I just didn’t realise what was happening.”
He sighed, looking at you looking at him, “If I asked you right now if you’d want to—“
You silenced him with a lingering, passionate kiss, your fingers bunching his shirt together to let him know you really meant it. His body gravitated closer to yours, you were seated on the edge of his desk, your knees making space for his body, your proximity making his heart race. When the kiss finally broke, he pulled away slightly, his intense gaze fixed upon you, and a playful yet intrigued eyebrow raised in question.
“I want to.” You affirmed with a decisive nod, your heart racing as you felt a gentleness in his energy as he stood so close to you.
He stepped away, the two of you both slightly pink in the cheeks as you mentally acknowledged what just happened.
“Did you need me to take you home?” He asked.
Your shook your head, Jd’s lips parted in a small ‘ah’ as he realised what you wanted, no need for you to ask. He pointed with his head in the direction of his bed to say ‘yes you can stay with me’. A smile played on your lips as you accepted the unspoken invitation, and you crawled onto his bed, settling in comfortably.
With a flick of the switch, the room descended into darkness, and he joined you, laying by your side.

Jd was woken from his midnight slumber by the familiar sound of his window being forced open, accompanied by muffled sniffles.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” His voice had a slight rasp, not having spoken for a few hours prior.
Through your tears, you managed to mumble, “How’d you know it was me? What if I was a murderer or a robber?”feeling around the dark room as you made your way to his bed.
Chuckling softly, Jd replied, “Murderers don't usually break into houses whilst crying. What’s wrong?” Pulling you close to his chest, he gently brushed your hair away from your tear-streaked face. A hesitant sniffle escaped your nose as you mumbled, “Promise you won't get mad?”
I don’t do promises.
“I promise, baby.”
“Kurt an-and Ram. They— well the heathers called me and— they left me alone with—“ you choppily tried your best to explain what happened. Jd took a very deep breath, your head rising and falling with his body as he did so.
I’m going to kill them. Literally kill them.
“I’m sorry, baby, you can cry, it’s okay, you’re safe with me now.” Jd whispered, kissing the top of your head. You winced, letting yourself cry while being coddled in Jd’s arms. Eventually, you managed to regain control over your breathing, your sobs subsiding. Sniffing softly, you mustered the courage to make a simple request, “Can I sleep here tonight?”
“Yes, darling.”
Jd drew you even closer to his body, getting comfortable again to sleep with you in his embrace. You pressed your face against his chest and shut your eyes, allowing yourself to drift off into sleep.
hey! don't know if you still do jason dean requests but i'm gonna put one in anyways. could you do something we're jd thinks the reader getting mad at him is super hot and he'll keep egging them on just so they yell at him or get frustrated at him (because he's just a frustrating person.) but the reader eventually catches on and starts trying to make him angry. the typical flirting with other guys, talking to people he doesn't like, not letting him hang out with them after school. eventually he just has enough and corners the reader and just goes off.

“I swear to god Jd it’s like you are out to make me mad.” You said after he’d showed up to your house with no books, not even a pen, after you explicitly explained that you are too busy with finals coming up to spend hours and hours doing nothing productive at the moment, and after he promised you he’d bring his school work over so you could study together.
“I’m not.” He laid back on your bed.
You looked at him, immediately seeing right through the grin that was tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Oh my god, you are.”
“I’m not.” He sat up, hardly able to control his smile.
“You are!”
“I’m not.” He shrugged.
“YOU ARE!” You yelled, earning a slight chuckle from him. You paused, taking a second to realise this is what he wanted out of you, you took a breath. He stood up, his hand finding the small of your back, he lent into you, mumbling, “how bout you let me relieve some of your anger, hm?”
“What? No. No no no.” You pushed him towards your bedroom door.
“Where are you—“
You continued to push him through your house.
“I don’t have time for this Jd. Go be a dick somewhere else. Go home. I need to study, don’t have time for your games.” You shut the door in his face, leaving him outside.
You went back to your room, sitting at your desk, feeling a little guilty for kicking him out but also a little frustrated that he’d been pissing you off on purpose lately. The snide remarks he’d been making, calling other girls hot, just to name a few things he’d been doing.
God, how could you be such an idiot? You know what? No. Two can play at that game. If he wants to give it out he’s gotta be able to take it.
The following Monday at school, you were by your locker, talking to David, a guy in your biology class. You saw Jd approaching you from your peripheral vision, and made sure to look extra entertained by this guy.
“Hey, babe. Mind if I join?” Jd asked.
“Actually, I do. We were in the middle of a conversation,” you looked up at David, “Sorry, let’s go somewhere else.” You smiled and walked away from Jd.
You couldn’t see him with your back turned, but you knew exactly the look he was giving you. You know he was easy to anger. You knew his eyes had darkened and his mind would be racing.
In the following weeks, you started to play your own game. You began flirting shamelessly with other guys in front of Jd, making sure he saw you laughing and enjoying their company. It was a risky move, but you was determined to push Jd to his limits, to give him a taste of his own medicine.
One day, you walked home with a guy from school, your hand lightly brushing his arm as you chatted and laughed. You glanced back and saw Jd trailing behind, his face a mask of frustration. Later that week, you made plans to hang out with people you knew Jd couldn’t stand. You watched as he gritted his teeth, knowing he wouldn’t be invited. The satisfaction you felt was immense, but it was nothing compared to what was to come. Jd’s breaking point finally arrived. It was a Friday after school, you had arranged to meet your friends after school to go to one of their houses, leaving Jd standing alone as he watched you and your friends leave together. That was his final straw. He couldn’t take it anymore. You knew Fridays after school were your designated “couple time”.
That night, he crawled into your bedroom through your window.
“What the fuck is wrong with you? What the hell are you playing at?” His anger evident in his piercing gaze.
You feigned innocence, your eyes widening, “Playing at? I don’t know what you mean.”
His voice trembled with barely-contained rage. “Stop it. You know exactly what you’re doing.”
You smirked, your heart pounding with a mix of fear and excitement. “Do I, Jd? Maybe I’m just having fun.”
He gripped your arms pulling you into his hold. “Fun? You think this is fun? Do you think it’s fun for me to watch you gawk at random guys. I know you don’t like them as much as you pretend to.” He was practically seething.
“How the fuck do you think I feel, then, huh?” You shoved him off of you, “I’m only doing it because you do it to piss me off.”
Jd’s frustration was palpable, and he raked a hand through his hair. The intensity of the situation hung in the air as he tried to regain his composure.
You stood your ground, staring at him with a mixture of anger and defiance. “You started this, Jd. Maybe now you’ll understand how infuriating it is to be on the receiving end of your bullshit.”
He took a step toward you, his eyes locked onto yours. “You think this is a game, Y/N? You think we can just keep pushing each other’s buttons?”
You matched his gaze, unflinching. “Maybe it is a game, Jd. But you started it. I just decided to play by your rules.”
For a moment, the room was filled with tense silence. The two of you were caught in a glaring standoff, each unwilling to back down. Jd finally let out a heavy sigh, running his fingers through his hair once more. “Fine, Y/N. You win this round.”
You raised an eyebrow, not expecting him to back down so easily. “Is that it? Just like that?”
He leaned in closer, his voice low and intense. “I only try to piss you off because your reaction is hot. I love when you yell at me, you know that?”
He reached out and grabbed your face gently, his touch surprisingly tender.
You nodded, feeling a sense of relief that you could finally be honest with each other.
“You gotta get better at telling me this stuff.”
Jd chuckled, leaning in, his lips met yours in a soft, gentle kiss. His hands found your waist, pulling you closer to him, his fingers finding their way up your skirt as he broke the kiss with a smile, pushing you down gently onto your bed.
OKAY SO I WAS THINKING JD X READER WHO HATES HIM AT FIRST BUT ENDS UP FALLING FOR HIM? I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE LOVE YOUR WORK BTW💗

“Get a load of this. I got paired with trench coat kid for our history assignment. Kill me now.” You ranted, joining your best friends in the hallway, walking to the cafeteria.
“Trench coat kid? Ouch.” Jd pretended to be insulted, accidentally bumping into you in the cafeteria. Your friends continued to your table, you glaring at them as they left you with Jd.
“God, why are you so weird?”
Jd flashed a mischievous smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “I prefer fascinating.” he retorted.
You rolled your eyes, "fascinating. How very.”
Undeterred by your dismissive attitude, Jd continued, “Look, I know you don't like me, but we're stuck together for this history project. Can you quit it with the Heather attitude just while we have to work together?”
You sighed, realizing he had a point. As much as you disliked the idea, you were a straight-A student, more or less, and this project wasn’t going to change that. Besides, at the very least, you’ll get to hang around some male company that isn’t Kurt or Ram for once. “Fine,” you grumbled, “but don't expect me to become your new best friend or anything.”
Jd grinned. “Fair enough. Let's meet up at the library after school, and we can start working on the project.”
You gave him one last look, before pushing passed to meet your friends at your table.
***
After the final bell rang, you made your way to the library. Jd was already waiting, sitting at a table near the back. He had his nose buried in a book, seemingly engrossed in its contents.
As you approached, Jd looked up and smiled warmly. “Glad you could make it,” he stood up, pulling out the chair beside him for you. You sat down beside him, slightly surprised by his chivalrous demeanor. “Yeah, well, I'm not one to back down from a challenge,” you replied, earning a small chuckle from Jd.
***
Two days ago you and Jd started your project together, in the library. You spent most of the time making snarky comments at him, however he stayed undiscouraged by your remarks, leaving you with a particular curiosity you’d not felt before. Anyway, the two of you agreed that it’d be better to continue working on it at your house, because you were constantly being shushed by the librarian.
“Where’s your parents?” Jd asked as you walked him though your house, upstairs to your room.
“It’s a Thursday. Their date night. But it’s more like a date afternoon because my mom likes to be in bed by nine thirty.”
“Nine thirty,” Jd, raised an eyebrow, laughing, “wild child.”
“Yeah, I get it from her, can’t you tell?” You joked.
Jd laughed, sitting on the floor, pulling his textbook out his backpack. You sat beside him, taking out the work you two started the other day. Just as you were about to get started, the phone on your bedside table began to ring. You inhaled deeply, waiting for it to ring out.
“Aren’t you gonna get that?” Jd asked.
“No. It’s either Heather, Heather, or Heather.”
Jd took a moment to think, “You’re not really one of them, are you?” The way we spoke was gentle. Usually every sentence he speaks contains at least one sarcastic punch, but he was tender with his words this time, something you’d not heard before.
“Well, my name isn’t Heather.”
“You don’t like them, do you, Y/N?”
You shook your head, “I don’t.”
Jd stared at you for a while, you stared back at him, not in a competitive way, just trying to read the others gaze for a moment.
“Why do you do that to yourself? Involve yourself in them, I mean? Why?”
“Well, it’s just like they’re people I work with and our job is being popular and shit. I can’t exactly just say no.” You gave him a small smile, “but it’d be nice to have someone around that wasn’t a mythic bitch.”
Jd laughed softly, “what about McNamara? She seems tolera—“
“Ugh!” You shouted.
“Woah. Forget I said that, Christ.”
Once again, your telephone rang.
“I can’t stand this! Ho-how does someone end up in this situation- I shoved away my real friends for what?” You ranted, on and on, over the sound of the phone, “I use my grand IQ to decide what lip gloss to wear in the morning and how to hit three keggers before—“
Jd shushed you with the first thing that came to mind. A kiss. As his lips gently connected to yours, you were momentarily taken aback. His unexpected gesture silenced your rambling, leaving you both in a state of quiet astonishment.
When he pulled away, you blinked, trying to process what had just happened. The room was filled with an unusual tension, and the air crackled with unspoken words. You looked at Jd, searching for an explanation in his eyes.
Jd's expression mirrored your confusion, but there was a newfound vulnerability there. “I... I didn’t know how else to shut you up,” he stammered. You stared at him, your mind racing. In that instant, you realized that Jd wasn't just your sarcastic and weird project partner anymore. There was something that had been building between you two. Perhaps it was the shared frustrations, the longing for genuine connections, or simply the way he had seen through the facade you put on for the world.
hello i am back ! thank you sm for your last post, i really enjoyed it!! anyways i have fallen down the jd rabbit hole. could i request a jd x reader where reader is very affectionate but jd is hesitant bc of veronica (he saw her suicide but moved before he knew it was fake and feels super guilty) then reader starts to get a little more distant because of the lack of reciprocation on jd's end. anyways this is gonna go on for too long, could u make it end with reader finding out what happened and reader comforts jd, and he just suddenly melts from the affection. Relief washed over you when you heard the familiar creak of your window opening. Looking up, you found your boyfriend, Jd, gracefully climbing into your room, a mischievous glint in his eyes as always. He got comfy beside you in your bed, snuggling up as he pulled your diary towards him, trying to peek.
“No.” You snapped it closed and popped it on your bedside table, telling him off.
“You’re really never gonna let me read that thing?”
“Maybe one day, when we’re 40 and I randomly find it after having forgotten about it for years.” You replied.
Jd laughed with a little shake of his head.
The evening went by much per normal, him climbing back out your window to head back to his own home, “I’ll see you at school,” he says as you shut your window behind him.
You let your body sit heavily on your bed, sighing. He had never been the most affectionate, you figured that was just the way he was. But lately he’s been even less affectionate. He’ll still let you be touchy with him, cuddling him and kissing on him but everything on his end has pretty much dissipated. Not even an arm around you as you walk together anymore. It felt like this big wedge was being driven through the middle of your relationship, and he -for some reason- wasn’t noticing it.
Another week or so passed, and the distance between you two had grew exponentially. You couldn’t entirely blame him, for you somewhat adopted this mindset of ‘if he wants to be distant, fine, I can be distant too.’
But it had gone on for too long now, and had gotten worse than you ever thought it could. You barely even talked at school, you just sort of sat together in this weird unresolved silence.
You had had enough. One evening you got yourself out of bed and marched yourself over to Jd’s house, not planning on leaving until you figured out what his deal was.
“Jd, I can’t do this anymore.” You wasted no time, immediately speaking as you crawled though his window, startling him.
“Y/N—”
“What are we doing?” You stood in front of him, arms crossed.
“What?”
“What are we doing? You and I. What is happening?”
His confusion was evident, his voice a mix of curiosity and bewilderment, “What are you talking about?”
“Jd, don’t be a dick. You're distant. We barely talk. You haven’t even held my hand in a month. I feel like I've lost you. Have I done something wrong?”
Jd's sigh carried a weight, his figure rising from the bed. “Y/N, I…” he hesitated, the words escaping him reluctantly, “My ex— she hung her herself in front of me. It haunts me. I just feel guilty and I'm terrified that I might drive you to the same point.”
The room fell into a stunned silence, your mind grappling with the enormity of his confession. Your mouth opened to speak, only managing to stutter incoherently. Before he could continue, you closed the gap between you, enfolding him in a heartfelt embrace. Silence enveloped the room, broken only by the sound of your steady breaths. “I had no idea,” you whispered softly, your voice carrying a mixture of sympathy and understanding “I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” Jd choked out, unsure exactly of what the emotions his brain was trying to process were. You shook your head against him slightly, still holding him in a hug, “I can’t imagine how heavy that must feel.”
Jd winced, beginning to cry into your shoulder, tears starting to flow without reservation. That was the first time anyone has ever acknowledged how much pain he has experienced, ever. Your touch was a silent reassurance to him that he could let his guard down.
Amidst his quiet sobs, you murmured calmingly to him, “Shh, it's alright, Jd. You're not alone anymore. I'm here for you.” Your voice was a steady presence, comfort in a way he’d received from no one except his mom when he was a kid.
As his tears subsided, you held him a little tighter, your fingers tracing soothing circles on his back. “You don't have to be afraid with me,” you whispered, your words carrying the weight of your sincerity. “I'm not your ex, Jd. I just want to see you happy.”
His grip on you tightened, his vulnerability a testament to the trust he was beginning to place in you. He gave you a watery smile. “Thank you,” he managed to whisper, his voice raw, “you wanna just stay here tonight?” He asked. You nodded, getting comfortable in his bed.
A/N: LMFAO I’m so sorry this is SHIT but I had already left it sitting in my inbox so long and I didn’t wanna keep u waiting any longer. I kinda gave up with the end so sorry I hope it’s okay I tried to stick as closely as I could to the request 😭🫶🏼
Study Date (poly! Veronica Sawyer x reader x Jason Dean)
Description: you have a study date with your partners Veronica and JD
A/N: I rewatched Heathers again and got this idea for a fic, and although I'm pretty convinced this is super crappy I figured I might as well put out some sort of content
Warnings: smoking, dark humor
"Ugh, this is so boring," you complained as you watched Veronica review over her notes in preparation for an upcoming test.
"It's math, it's not supposed to be exciting," she responded before flipping to another page.
JD chuckled, observing the two of you before pulling a cigarette from his coat and going to light it.
"Jason, you can't smoke in here!" You scolded as you snatched the cigarette from his mouth.
He frowned before picking up another one. "Why not?"
"Because this is my house, and if my parents find out they're going to be pissed. Now give me your lighter so you won't be tempted." You held your hand out, gesturing towards the lighter he was holding.
He let out a small laugh, assuming you were joking before he realized you weren't. "Aw, come on, you can't be serious."
"I very much am, unless you want to explain to my parents why their house smells like cigarette smoke. Now hand it over."
Veronica held back a laugh as she watched JD reluctantly give you his beloved lighter.
"Thank you, very much," you said as you tucked it into your backpack.
"Well, now I'm bored," JD commented.
"Maybe if you pulled out your textbook and studied for tomorrow's test you wouldn't be," Veronica suggested as she held up her book.
"I don't need to study, I'm sure I'll do fine," he said as he tapped his fingers on the table. "Man, I could really use a smoke right about now."
"See? He's taking the same test we are, why doesn't he have to study?" You asked as Veronica took your copy of the textbook out of your bag.
"Because he's a delinquent who gets himself in trouble on purpose, that's why," she said while handing it to you. "Here's your book, now study."
"This is lame," you mumbled as you sunk down low in your seat.
"Tell me about it. If I had known things were going to be this boring I would have found somebody to piss me off so I'd have an excuse to fake a suicide. At least that would excite me," he joked.
You laughed loudly before seeing the look of judgment on your girlfriend's face. "Ahem, I mean, that's not funny JD, shame on you," you fake lectured while he snorted at your antics.
Veronica playfully rolled her eyes before tapping on the textbook in front of you. "Study."
You crossed your arms over you chest and huffed. "But I don't wanna. Can't I just study later?"
"Study later- the test is tomorrow! How much time do you think you're going to have between now and then to study if you wait?"
You shrugged your shoulders, your boyfriend letting out an amused chuckle as you did so.
"I mean, she's not wrong," he pointed out.
"Oh, shut up JD, you have no room to talk," Veronica huffed, JD holding his hands up in surrender as she did so.
"Why is this so important to you?" You ask as you watch her furiously scribble in the margins of her textbook. "You've never been that much of a stickler when it comes to grades before, so why start now?"
"Because-" she sighed, setting down her pencil, "-when we graduate high school I'm probably going to move somewhere else to go to college, and I don't want you guys to get left behind. That's all."
You and JD shared a look. You'd never thought of it that way before. I mean, sure, Sherwood wasn't the worst place in the world, but it certainly wasn't the best either. The thought of you and JD getting stuck there, barely scraping to get by while Veronica was off seeing the world sent a shiver down your spine.
"Alright, fair enough." If it really meant that much Veronica that you study, then that's what you'd do.
Her face softened into a grateful smile, watching as you opened up your textbook to the notes page. She reached her hand across the table and set it down on yours, giving it a soft squeeze.
"Thanks, honey. I really appreciate it."
"Just know, I'm only doing this for you, okay? There's literally no one else in the world that could convince me to do math homework for them."
Veronica let out a small chuckle before turning her gaze to JD, who had stolen back his lighter and was casually smoking a cigarette.
"Jason!" You exclaimed, reaching over to snatch it from his mouth while Veronica laughed.
