11 - The Reason Why I Joined Tumblr
In the Fall of the Year of Our Lord Twenty Aught Nine, there was a new, semi-popular website fad known as “Formspring”.
Now, I had heard of Tumblr long before this and had even created an account but never actually touched it because it looked intimidating to me, as it does for many a new user. But Formspring, that I DID use, and use it often.
It was a big thing for a few months amongst many of my internet friends and I. If you’ve never heard of it, Formspring was (and is) basically Tumblr’s Ask Box feature but put in a website all by itself.
Once, I was talking with a friend who had a Tumblr but not a Formspring, and I asked her why that was so. She basically told me what I just told you, that Tumblr IS Formspring plus lots and lots more stuff.
So, I gave Tumblr a legitimate chance and almost immediately fell into its clutches entirely, eventually never even going back to Formspring at all. This is also why I post a lot of Ask Box Meme posts, because the Ask Box has always been a big part of my personal blogging experience.
I bounce my knee when I’m impatient.
I can’t sleep unless I have a fan on, even in Winter.
I sometimes spin in my chair when I can’t think of a third thing.
