‘’Hey guys. Today I am buying my girlfriend, Y/n, a brand-new car. The one she has now is literally being held together by duct tape. She’s had that car for six year, and her mom had it for ten before that. As many of you guys know, Y/n’s mom passed six years ago and that was her mom’s car. !!Y/n’s POV!!
‘’Hey, guys.’’ I walk into the Scott, Todd, and Jason’s house. We’re going to just hang out a film. There’s nothing planned, but knowing my boyfriend, David, he will come up with something interesting for us to film. I have a YouTube channel that I post on every Sunday and Wednesday. I’ve been on YouTube for about five years. I started soon after my mom died. It made me happy and helped with my depression. I’ve got 7 million subscribers, and about the same on Instagram. I’ve been dating David for three years, and he’s helped me, as I have helped him.
‘’Hey, Y/n.’’ I smile at the group of my best friends.
‘’Hi, babe.’’ I sit next to David and kiss his cheek. He smiles back to me and grabs my hand.
‘’Any ideas for what we’re filming today?’’ I turn to Jason, as he asked a question. I shrug and look at David.
‘’I don’t know. Maybe we should do something about the car that I bought.’’
‘’You didn’t.’’ Heath says in disbelief.
‘’Who did you get it for?’’ I ask him excited. I love when he does this. It makes me so happy to see my friends happy. I hope he got it for Jason, Jason has been part of the vlogs for forever, and he always does the greatest bits, and he definitely deserves it. I see David’s camera is out, which I didn’t notice it before.
‘’I got it for you.’’ I look at him confused, and he pulls his camera closer to my face. He dangle keys in my face, and I stare at them in disbelief.
‘’No, you didn’t, David.’’ I look at the others, and see some of them nodding, the ones that knew. ‘’David?’’ He nods, and I put my head in my hands, and feel the tears falling into them. He bought me a car. He knows about the one from my mom, I don’t know if I can take it. It’s the only thing I have left of her, and I can’t part from it.
‘’Come on, let’s go see it.’’ He stands, then pulls me with him. I follow him, not wanting to object.
‘’David, I can’t take this car.’’ I tell him.
‘’Why not? Y/n, I bought this car for you. Have you seen the car you have now?’’
‘’You know why. David, the one I have is my mom’s car. I can’t just not use it anymore. It’s a beautiful car, and I don’t want to mess up the videos, but… I don’t know.’’ I put my head in my hands again in distress.
‘’Y/n.’’ He whispers, and I look up at him. He doesn’t have his camera, so I assume he handed it to someone.
‘’I’m sorry. I love what you did, and I love the car, but I just can’t do that to my mom.’’
‘’I knew that you were going to say this, so take a look on the inside of the car.’’ He takes his camera back and follows me to the car. I open the driver seat door, and I see David go on the other side.
‘’Ohh.’’ I cover my mouth at the site. The car has the same chevron pattern on the seats, the white steering wheel cover, a ‘Shine Brighter Than The Stare Above’ sticker on the dashboard, and the pink duct tape that I used for decoration on the rear view mirror. It’s just like my mom’s car, missing a few details, but he put in the ones that made me happy. I look up at David and see him smiling at me. I start to cry and get out of the car. ‘’Thank you, David. I love it. Thank you.’’ I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him into me.
‘’No problem, Y/n. I’m glad you like it. The stuff in there is new but gives the same feel.’’ He turns off his camera and hugs me again. Everyone looks at the car, but David and I stay where we are.
‘’Thank you so much, David. I love you, and I love that you did this for me.’’ I kiss him for a few seconds before pulling back.
‘’I love you too, Y/n. So much. I’m glad you like the car, now go and drive it.’’ I smile and kiss his cheek before going back to the car.
