Hey! I followed because I saw you live in Seoul, and I just wondered if you could help me out? I'm visiting for 2 weeks in June and I'm going solo, is there any tips you could give me for being a loner but still having a good time? Thanks! x
Hello there! Have you already booked your accommodation? If not, I definitely suggest you to stay at Kimchee Hongdae guesthouse, or any guesthouse in general. Usually people there are super social and many of them come alone too, so it will not be hard to find friends to go to places with. I stayed in Kimchee for 3 weeks before I moved to my own place and I made so many great friends there. We’re still in touch like daily and have parties at the guesthouse every now and then. If you, however, want to do things alone then I think you can have good time no matter where you go or what you do. :’) People here are super nice and it’s not hard to make new friends all around the city.
As a fellow lady I’d say don’t miss cheap shopping places with plenty of cute clothes in Dongdaemun (Dongdaemun history & culture park station in line 2) and also check out Gangnam station’s huge underground shopping center. If your taste is expensive Gangnam is also the go-to place for you.
Hongdae has the best nightlife, if you’re into the young & artsy hip hop slash street fashion kind of thing. Gangnam has also a lot of classy clubs, and Itaewon seems to be a popular nightlife spot, too, though I've never been clubbing there myself. Bars, restaurants and cute cafes are all around the city. Like literally they’re everywhere.
If you want to see culture, well.. then hanging out anywhere in Seoul is fine, haha!
I don’t think I have any other very useful tips besides being active and social and choosing a guesthouse to stay at while you’re here... OR you can always message me and I’ll take you somewhere, haha! :’)Hope this helped~
