Black Henbane- Hyoscyamus niger Henbane is a ritual entheogen with a very archaic history. It has been used as a ritual fumigant since the time of the Sumerians. Henbane seeds have been found in Neolithic burial sites across Europe and Asia minor. In the ancient work henbane was connected to necromancy and the god Apollo. Apollo was also a god of plague, which is an interesting connection to this poisonous plant. Henbane is a member of the nightshade family and can be toxic in large doses, however it is one of the safer nightshades to work with. The oldest way to use henbane is to burn the roasted seeds before divination or summoning spirits. Later it was included in the pharmacopoeia of medieval witchcraft. TWO WEEKS ?  but in these two weeks you just became such a wonderful friend, someone who helped me feel so welcomed and nice here in the IT fandom. You deserve the world and happiness and as much booze as you can drink. 

you are such an amazing person and such an amazing writer, so talented and passionate and it’s always just such a pleasure to write with you, talk with you ... I love you a lot and I hope you have a PERFECT Birthday with all the people you love because you deserve nothing but happiness and glitter and all the gay things you can imagine.

is flight had been delayed so that just gave her more time to sit and think ( and hide behind large sunglasses ) as she sat in the waiting area of the airport. His stuff had arrived earlier in the week and Evie had taken the utmost caution in unpacking and making sure nobody caught a glimpse. 

The Queen of Instagram had a secret.

And he was due to arrive any minute now. She knew with the dark wig and glasses that she would be unrecognizable, which was a godsend but she knew it was easier for her to blend in than it was for Magnus. They both had their lives plastered all over social media, separate lives. Ones that showed that they didn’t always get along, their viewers liked to stir up drama between them. Little did they know that they had been dating for upwards of five years now. 

And now Magnus was moving from NYC to LA so they could be closer. It was amazing and Evie for one couldn’t wait, but she knew that they had to break it to their fans, the people who had supported them both emotionally and financially throughout their entire careers. 

She saw his head coming down the ramp and the smile that spread across her features was complete joy and she pushed to her feet, small wrapped box stuffed into her pocket so she could give it to him later. Her hand raised to flag him down since she didn’t exactly look like herself. “Babe!”

as   the   door   opens,   Lydia   pauses   like   a   cat   caught   in   headlights.   Eyes   sparkling   emerald   and   wide   as   she   fixes   them   on   the   familiar   male   before   continuing   with   the   tidying   of   random   objects   that   were   spewed   upon   the   floor   of   Magnus’s   apartment.   She   could   almost   hear   the   questions   threatening   from   his   lips.      ❝   before   you   ask,   can   you   just   help   me   ?      I   need   this   place   tidy   in   an   hour   ❞   Pale   hand   waves   her   wand   over   at   the   papers   on   the   desk,   stacking   them   into   neat   piles.   ❝   I   may   have   met   a   guy   last   night.   And   I   might   have   said   you   were   my   brother.   So   I   need   you   to   play   along   ❞      the   redhead   winced   before   nodding   at   surely   the   other   question   he   had,   ❝   and   I   couldn’t   invite   him   to   my   place   because   he   might   be   a   psycho.   I   don’t   even   know   the   guy   ❞

he   had   barely   gotten   inside   the   event,   like   a   fucking   adolescent   boy   trying   to   get   into   a   rock   concert,   and   when   he   did,   it   had   mellowed   out   considerably.   creatures   lounged,   high,   tired,   wasted,   or   all   of   the   above.   with   a   grunt,   he   drained   the   drink   offered   to   him   by   a  patron   whose   body   had   begun   to   permanently   sway,   even   as   they   sat   down.   lucifer’s   eyes   darkened   and   he   scanned   over   the   residence,   not   recognizing   any   of   the   faces,   despite   having   been   trying   to   get   into   a   magnus   bane   rendezvous   for   the   last   several   weeks.    ❛   where   in   the   half   devil   is   magnus   bloody   bane   ?   ❜

This entire situation was utterly embarrassing. Only in New York for a few weeks and a demon had already gotten to him. Luckily, help was close by - at least, Alec and Izzy had assured him more than once that Magnus Bane was willing to help Shadowhunters in need. and with this wound he definitely needed it. Minutes - which felt like hours - later, he stood at the entrance to the loft, hoping that the warlock was home and awake.

He’s straightening his shirt, beneath the tweed vest, praying its war with his trousers won’t constantly leave him askew. He feels, suddenly, like the ungodly lovechild of the youngest, most pathetic form of King Arthur, and a dead poets’ society reject, and tells himself there’s no time to worry himself with that now. 

His fingers feel each rap on the door, the door knocking back equal and opposite through his bones, fingertrips pale,  the tips of a pattern of vines that twine around his arms, connect in the center of his back barely lapping at the knuckle, black and green poking out from his shirtsleeve.

 He makes himself breathe in--knocking too many times makes him a nuissance, at best. One. Two. Three. Another--two--three, one--the door opens to a man not near aged to Merlinlike eternity, and it dons on Adam he could have an old address, could be harrassing a New York stranger at ten in the morning, and he swallows, an accent half-buried surfacing.

“Excuse me, sir,” He feels hot, too hot despite the breeze. “I’m looking for Magnus Bane.”
