Two (2) entire mutuals asked me to translate something in Hebrew and apologized ahead of time for the trouble, so just to reiterate: It's no trouble, and I like it! I like reminding people we're a whole, real people with a unique culture and history and language (that works so differently from English or other Latin/Germanic languages!). I still think I need to type up a lil post(s) about cultural figures in Jewish Israeli history like Yona Wollach, a poet who was maybe always deemed odd and a bit unstable (and with opinions about sexuality & gender kind of unpopular at the time). She was outright disowned by mainstream literary society after publishing a poem where tefilin are explicitly mentioned as an instrument for BDSM. Fucking icon.

רק חיפשתי פוסט ישן, לא ציפיתי שיגררו אותי ככה
english: here's a fire traditionally made with bones. we call it a "bonfire". here's another fire, usually lit at campsites. we call it a "campfire".
hebrew: uhh ok so it's a controlled fire made from a pile of wood. we can call it a 'medurah' = "pile". and this one... this one you sit around. we'll borrow the yiddish 'kummsitz' = "come sit"; because people sit around it 🙂↕️
great news:
Ancient Greek ἴδιος ('idios'. "of the self, private") -> Ancient Greek ἰδιώτης ('idiotes'. "private person, non-professional") -> Hebrew הדיוט ('hedyot'. same meaning. especially "non-Cohen" or "non-scholar")
ἰδιώτης -> Latin idiota ("ignorant or uneducated person") -> French (via Old French) and German idiot (same meaning) -> Russian идио́т ('idiot'. same meaning) -> Modern Hebrew אידיוט ('idyot'. same meaning)
most jews are called "idiots" in the Mishna 👍
yeah, you could say I'm Avi's son 😎 A - Eliezer V - Ben I - Yehuda
Everything about this ad is good. The low res. The language explicitly refers to me as feminine and looking for (emotionally mature) men. The last sentence says "hi with someone who sees your soul".
