Two (2) entire mutuals asked me to translate something in Hebrew and apologized ahead of time for the trouble, so just to reiterate: It's no trouble, and I like it! I like reminding people we're a whole, real people with a unique culture and history and language (that works so differently from English or other Latin/Germanic languages!). I still think I need to type up a lil post(s) about cultural figures in Jewish Israeli history like Yona Wollach, a poet who was maybe always deemed odd and a bit unstable (and with opinions about sexuality & gender kind of unpopular at the time). She was outright disowned by mainstream literary society after publishing a poem where tefilin are explicitly mentioned as an instrument for BDSM. Fucking icon.
