So today at work some backpacker came in, and when he got his ticket he asked for the ticket that was going to go to a woman and her children. He said he wanted to pay her bill because he overheard some woman at another table say that the mother should be beaten because she was wearing a low-cut sundress and that it was a bad influence to her daughter. 

It’s been so long since I’ve witness this type of genuine kindness first-hand... Getting to see shit like this is definitely one of the biggest reasons I like my job.

On the flip side people like that insulting woman are the reason I simultaneously  hate my job, especially when they’re regulars that I have to see every goddamn day.
