Is there a universe in which we both get chengsey pre canon exes and heclan post canon ??? happening? If so do you think they compare each other to one another

I think they do compare but it IS also mostly declan seething in rage at henry picking gansey over him (he would not pick henry over Jordan either) + henry kind of wishing gansey sucked more so he could be like declan . if I must house md metaphor it, declan and henry are house and Cuddy, perpetually locked in a workplace harassment lawsuit; and gansey and henry are like, a normal relationship or as normal as one can get for henry
OH sorry I reread it and you ARE correct in that it is statistically rarer for heclan to occur AFTER chengsey. let me think for a sec. OK I would say this depends on when the chengsey relationship occurs. if it's exes precanon then I think heclan goes on relatively uncontested because sarchengsey are mostly just friends. if chengsey become exes after the ROAD TRIP though... hoo hoo hoo. that's one of my favorite heclans because gansey is in the back clutching his glass of mint vodka TIGHT and gloomily blaring silver springs while henry minds his own business. nobody is more salty about heclan than gansey. he CANNOT pretend to have a moral high ground. either way henry is not comparing declan to gansey beyond trying to irritate declan but declan himself is CONSTANTLY comparing himself to gansey. something something truth and honesty given freely and a debate about its value
