So long kiddos! Today marked the end of an era. My nearly decade-long tenure coaching at Channel Islands High School has come to a close. I could not be prouder of these magnificent ladies and gentlemen. Not just my group from this year, but the 80+ of you that I have had the privilege to coach. Each and every one of you has made an impact on my life, and I am truly grateful to have learned and grown from each experience. I was born into the Channel Islands name, but never had the chance to live up to it. Yet somehow, I ended up adding to the legacy I grew up knowing and loving. I am truly humbled to have been allowed into such an elite legacy and cannot fathom that I was able to make an impact on a 52 year old team. There were so many growing pains throughout the years, but I truly believe they were for the benefit of everyone involved. I cannot imagine my life without this amazing group, and am heartbroken that this year was my last. I promise to take every lesson I’ve learned from each and every one of you and use it to better myself and those around me. I love you all and wish nothing but the best for you. Every sing one of my kids has the potential to be something great in life and I know you will achieve all you desire and more. I want to thank all the coaches and staff who allowed me in as a complete stranger. I know we didn’t start off on the right foot, but this year was something special. I can’t wait to see what y’all have in store for the future, whether I’m involved or not.
