After her ex discovers her online feedism fetish work, leaving her ashamed and broken, Sadie moves away from her old life and rebuilds herself through discipline and restraint. Her new job at Westvale Wellness seems like the perfect place to keep her fragile new life intact, too.

But temptation continues to find her in the office. Leftover pastries, work-provided lunches, small temptations that make it easier and easier to give in to her cravings.

She recognized this woman. Dark, copper-brown hair fell in near-straight waves just past the shoulders of her coat, which hung open to reveal the tasteful V-cut of her dress beneath. Her pale green eyes bore into the same sculpture Serena'd been looking at for several minutes now, a cold, hard stare that almost made Serena feel bad for the sculpture. With one arm resting across her waist, she toyed idly with the gold chain at her neck, as though she couldn’t be bothered to appear as anything but bored by what she was seeing. Alexis Harper—famous curator, infamous critic, and art-world powerhouse—was less than five feet away, standing with all the casual assurance of someone who commanded attention without having to ask for it. What was she even doing at a gallery like this? There was no way it compared to the shows and events she attended on a regular basis. Hell, her last status update was from some prestigious collector’s gala in New Zealand. As if sensing the attention, her gaze drifted from the sculpture to Serena.
